    HU Tobacco still open

That is outstanding news! I've been fortunate enough to try Directors Cut and Edward G, with Edward G just nudging Directors Cut in my tastings. Haven't tried Louisiana Broken or Nashville County yet. I love Dockworker, and look forward to trying more of Hans's blends.

    Christmas Tunes

I'll preface this by stating that I absolutely despise this time of year. I've called the time after Thanksgiving till Jan 2nd The Season Of Doom and Gloom since I was 13. But The time also has its upsides, namely some great songs. In No particular order, I give you my 4 favorite songs for this...

    Briar and Burley Bloomington In

Once again travel hockey has dragged me out of the den. This weekend it's Bloomington , then Carmel( Indy). My son and I arrived early and had time to kill, so I stopped in at Briar and Burley. This my 2nd visit, the previous was 4 years ago. This shop always manages to amuse me. If you ever...

Tobacco Tourism - Straus Tobacconist Florence, Ky

I will add that they are a tad on the high side for their tins. Almost $16 for a 50 gram tin.

    Oh Joy

None at all with Haggis, although Ive never had haggis. Goetta comes in either blocks or tube. You slice about 1/4 inch pieces and fry them much like sausage patties. Delicious anytime of day! Goes well with syrup, ketchup, or apple sauce as a condiment.

    Oh Joy

It is mighty tasty. Gliers is the gold standard imho, especially the original and the hot. One of the things I miss about growing up in the area. That and Findlay market down town. And Octoberfest.

    Oh Joy

Was up in Northern Ky yesterday, and stopped by my Mothers for a bit. I grew up in the area, but have lived in the south central part of the state for the last 20 years. And one of the things I miss greatly is Goetta. God bless my mother, on the occasions I make it up that way, she always has a...

Tobacco Tourism - Straus Tobacconist Florence, Ky

I was up in Nky for my son's hockey game yesterday and stopped by Straus for a few minutes. Picked up 2 McClelland tins(Beacon extra and a 2 year old tin of Blue Mountain.) I grew up in the area, and miss this store a lot. It's nicely finished and the staff is really good.

    R. L. Burnside

I discovered R.L. kinda backwards. It was my absolute love for the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion that got me into R.L. Then he was taken away from us. Damn shame. I believe his son plays with the North Mississippi Blues All Stars.

What Kind Of Podcast Do You Listen To?

2nd on Dan Carlin and Joe Rogan. Also recommend Waking Up with Sam Harris, Jocko Podcast, and for general silliness and humor its tough not not laugh at Bill Burr's Monday Morning Podcast. Though be warned about Burr. Language is very salty.
