***What Are You Smoking, May 2023?***

Slightly cool day in the Mitten, just finishing my first bowl of Paradoxical in an Azura rusticated billiard. This is a fantastic smoking pipe, highly recommend Michiganders stop by Hill & Hill and pick one up, only $130 for an artisan pipe.

    Lots Of Open Tins

I have 24 blends (22 pictured and two more in my desk at work) jarred that I smoke from, which is everything. No real cellar here, but I'm only a year in always trying new stuff out. I label the replaceable lids and keep a pack of new lids. When I finish a blend I save the labeled lid to know...

    Missing My Small Batch

This is my approach as well, just happy to have the experience. In the lyrics of Chris Cornel, "the want is always greater than the have."

    Autopilot / Muscle Memory

Sometimes when driving and in deep conversation with my wife I start heading to work or someplace I typically go without thinking, like I'm on autopilot. She's usually quick to correct me, but once in a while she likes to see how long it takes me to figure it out on my own.

What are You Watching? [2023] Please Rate 1-5

This is on my watch-later list. Looks like a decent shoot'em up beat'em up flick.

    Crazy Bumper Stickers.

In the US the atmosphere feels so divided andmaybe it's always felt that way. It's interesting to look at all the symbolism different groups adopt and the need to express this. Take for instance the rainbow flag and the punisher skull. I often feel conflicted because i like stuff that seems...

    What are You Reading Now?

About half way through Cannery Row by Steinbeck.

What are You Watching? [2023] Please Rate 1-5

Just finished up watching 1883 on Paramount+. This was one of the best shows I've seen in some time, even teared up at the end. The character Elsa (and actress) was amazing. 5/5

    Jim's Sutliff Paradoxical Review.

Ordered my 1 tin. Still haven't smoked Uno or Aberrant yet, but so far Whimsical is the best thing I've smoked. If anyone isn't a fan and is looking to part with couple of tins, I'd take 'em.

    Retrohale And Aroma

Great advice, worked like a charm, though it still feels a little strange.

***What Are You Smoking, May 2023?***

Just finishing a bowl of BoF Anomalous in my new Azura rusticated billiard. Also just finished reading James Bridle's book, Ways of Being. Time to get cleaned up and head out for Mother's day dinner.

Practicing my sipping technique with some Saloni 633 in a Moonshine Midnight Sandblast Cannon Ball while watching Ben Horn discuss his photographs from his winter Zion trip.

    How Slow can You Go?

Last fall I thought I was getting there, then smoked over the winter, I smoke outdoors only, and because of that I think my brain needs a reset. My theory is the cold air temp allowed me to puff more than sip, even using something akin to the breath method, now as the temps have warmed up, I'm...

***What Are You Smoking, May 2023?***

Some John Cotton's Double Pressed Virginia while enjoying a B-Day gift. Wish I could enjoy the blend as much, can't quite seem to figure out how to smoke this. Light packing and it won't stay lit, when I do keep it lit, getting mild tounge bite.

Looking For Pipe Shops in Michigan

Last time I was in Paul's they only had tins because they were an estate they got, but from what the shop attendant was saying they don't normally stock tins, only their own blends. Maison Edwards is a nice place, but like you saw only carry Mac Baren. Last time I was in there the owner really...
