    Sutliff Mocha Slices

a flake tobacco, that arrived with the flakes partially broken up. I rubbed some out and set it on table for a bit, filled the pipe lightly, and lit her up....nice chocolate rasberry flavor (it's an aromatic). Burned completely to white ash without working hard at it (smoked outside 45 degree...

Why Do Aromatics Have a Bad Rap?

the challenge for me with Lane and Sutliff aromatics is getting them dry enough.... heavily laden with PG, I have to often put them in a 300 degree oven in a loose wrap of tin foil, often for up to 30 to 40 minutes...keep checking, when taken out and the vapor comes off, feel it, if the...

    Question about Prince Albert

PA easiest smoking burley, easy pack , stays lit...light semi sweet flavor (mostly chocolate) but tobacco flavor comes through...less sweet than typical aromatics...occasionally a cigarette note if puffed too hard...totally bite free for me. Half and Half, strong anise taste last time I had...

Is Customer Service a Thing of the Past?

my uncle is 95, and uses AT&T landlines...with cradle type phones..., we are here in PA caregiving....he has received a new set as he is going blind and the display works better for him. ...he doesn't need the others . I'll check with him and he probably would be willing to give them to you...is...

Is Customer Service a Thing of the Past?

thanks all for your well thought and honest feedback....I respect others, and I like to be treated respectfully.... I know there are others that "take advantage, for their own benefit", and do not "engage fairly".... I could never do that.. When we were kids, I played with the neighbors, mostly...

Is Customer Service a Thing of the Past?

Sable brush had it right That's why. Customer service isn't dead, but it is getting rationed.... the retailer doesn't care enough about the vendor/customer relationship. They believe that honest negative online feedback will not matter. I have been an amatuer gunsmith, and over the years...

Is Customer Service a Thing of the Past?

yes, thanks all. ..fact is, I RARELY complain, and don't believe the "customer is always right".... Just an unfortunate incident, and like the retailer indicated, he doesn't need my business, because he has lots of faithful repeat customers....I also have many other places to buy from...so...

Is Customer Service a Thing of the Past?

So I just received a small order from WV Smokeshop with a couple ounces of LL7, some Sutliff Mocha Strips..and a 1 1/2 oz. package of Sir Walter Raleigh Regular...upon opening the pouch of SWR, the vinegar pouch smell was OVERWHELMIMNG!! and trying to smoke it was pointless...it was sour and...

How can I make this stuff smokeable????

Yes, I talked to Jeremy on the phone in July, when I had an issue, after the vacation....after explaining to him, he recommended Old Joe Krantz Blue, and Nutty Irishman....the Nutty Irishman , I really like. Their Old Joe Series, use pretty untreated burley (even the Blue) , and I ended up...

How can I make this stuff smokeable????

Thanks all...your comments and recommendations are appreciated...yes, the tobacco is too wet and has to be dried, plus gravity filled lightly and puffed gently (from chasing embers)...makes a difference. also, and equally a factor, I have to stay hydrated....I ran into a similar scenario, in...

How can I make this stuff smokeable????

While visiting family out of town, and low on tobacco I packed with me...I stopped at a cigar store that had some Sutliff aro blends....one was marked Vanilla Royale, and the other Spiced Rum...the proprietor evidently bought it in bulk, weighed out 2 oz. portions and bagged it. I knew it would...

    Best of the Rest

no BCA or any other black cav in the aro I got...I suspect the base is largely a light burley.

    Best of the Rest

I tnink the terms some use to describe, can be a turnoff, but I can attest that the quaiity is above average, with a moisture level that's just about right, unlike many of the aromatic, PG laden, blends one can buy in pouches today in your local Walgreens , smoke (really vape) shops, etc.

    Best of the Rest

P&C markets these lb. bags as "end of the day leftovers", "floor sweepings",etc.... currently selling an English and an Aromatic, at remarkably low prices. They are both good! I let the English set for a while in a dark drawer , about a month, after first, dumping into a large tupperware...

Pipe Smoke PH Tongue Sting and Alkaline Bite

thanks, yes I put my curiosities to rest after a couple replies.

Pipe Smoke PH Tongue Sting and Alkaline Bite

Interesting what methods work for all of us...what I have settled on is to use small amounts of higher ph (burley) to adjust, when needed. I am also playing around with the effects of stoving, or casing with small amounts of white vinegar (heat /pressure) let it sit for a week, and see if that...

Pipe Smoke PH Tongue Sting and Alkaline Bite

KC.....agreed, but when tobacco is listed as having cavendish ingredients, the cavendish can be made of virginias, or burleys ...for ex., ...I understand C & D unflavored black cavendish is made with cigar leaf...certainly alkaline... a lot of Lane cav is virginia based....

Pipe Smoke PH Tongue Sting and Alkaline Bite

Hi all, when I smoke virginias or sweet virginia based cavendishes, I get discomfort.. "tongue sting"...you know, when followed by a carbonated drink, it tingles more..... Some call this tongue bite. Others have described "bite" as an extreme discomfort , caused by alkalinity in tobacco that...
