***What Are You Smoking, May 2021?***

Congrats on your retirement my friend! I also enjoyed some Brown Bogie yesterday. It was my first time smoking it, and I fully expected it to kick my butt. Definitely potent stuff, but didn’t wind up being nearly as strong as I expected. Looking forward to pairing it with some good bourbon...

Show Me Your Favorite Tobacco Knife!

Posted this in the “What are You Smoking” thread this morning, but a buddy’s dad just made this for me as a late 40th bday gift. Not only does his dad make knives, but he is a former pipe smoker, so when my buddy told him I needed something to cut up plug tobacco, he knew exactly what I needed...

Smoking circa 2005 Gawith Hoggarth Dark Plug in an Estella 511 KS. Normally only break out this plug once a year on my bday (end of March), but a good friend surprised me over the weekend with a late bday gift. I had mentioned to him awhile back how difficult it was to cut these plugs, and he...

A pleasant evening on the deck smoking 2004 Gawith Hoggarth Dark Flake unscented in this Bertram 120. I am working my way through this jar way too fast. I have 10 different jars open, but keep reaching for this, as it is so incredibly good with the age on it!

Having a bowl of Gawith Hoggarth Balkan Mixture in a Peterson Mark Twain. I don’t smoke Latakia blends often, but this pipe is dedicated to such blends, as this was a pipe previously owned by a late friend of mine who smoked a lot of English blends out of it when he was alive. Anyways, Colombian...
