    Coolidor for my pipe tobacco

Well, I have only been at it for a few weeks, and I am buying 1 oz samples for now. So I should be ok then. But, once I start building a real cellar, I guess these won't be good for longer term storage.

    Coolidor for my pipe tobacco

Ok, I was wondering if anyone else was using these, as opposed to mason jars. I find these to be less of an inconvenience than the mason jars, simply because I don't have to fiddle with lids.

    The Journey Continues... week #4

Well, we are going into Week #4 of my beginners pipe journey! I gotta say, this is going much better than my previous cigar expirement. I never REALLY enjoyed smoking cigars, but I enjoyed the concept, the ritual, and the diversity. For the past 3-4 years, I would OCCASIONALLY smoke a cigar...

    Day 2... lessons learned

Thank you! It was a gift from my Aunt and Uncle. It was at their house in AZ before they moved into an apartment here in Los Angeles while my Aunt was treated for cancer. Unfortunately, she lost that fight. I think of her every time I smoke now, which is ironic because she would definitely not...

    Country Squire Middle Earth Tobaccos?

I will have to try that company. But I have 12 1-ounce samples to get through first!

    First English Blend

I'm new here, but I am guessing that although THIS doesn't make you weird... SOMETHING probably does! 🤣 We all have a little WEIRD in our DNA!

    Post-Lighting re-pack.

I haven't had this problem yet... however, last night I painstakingly packed a bowl, then set my pipe down to make a hot decaf, sat back down and picked up my pipe, only to drop it upside down on the patio floor. Lost the entire pack on the dirty floor, followed by cursing. Then a redo.

    That was a cool read.

    Country Squire Middle Earth Tobaccos?

I chose to go with Rivendell tonight. And yes, the room notes are important to me, although I don't smoke in the house. But my patio smells great!

    Country Squire Middle Earth Tobaccos?

Well, my sampler pack just arrived! Time to go pack up, sit back, and listen to the rain. My only problem now is which one should I try first? My guess is that I am good to go for a bit... NO MORE TOBACCO PURCHASES, HONEY, I SWEAR, I MEAN IT THIS TIME, REALLY! This is what I just received, all...

What's New with Me (AKA: "I Still Exist"), and The Journey

Just my opinion, but you may be making it harder than it has to be... I share your displeasure for gatekeepers and people that feel "triggered". But I try to remember that their problems are THEIR problems, and what they think of me is none of my business. Just like they usually couldn't care...

Relights - Maybe it’s just me

Well, opinion from a newbie, so take it for what it is worth... about halfway through a bowl I find it harder to keep it lit without specific thought and effort to my cadence. If I have to relight more than once, I find it is easier to dump the ash, tamp, and relight. I don't generally scrape; I...

On Smoking Slowly and the Benefits...

Yup, I am still doing the same. After reading this thread, I took it as a personal challenge to slow down and try to get 45 - 60 minutes out of every bowl. I don't always make it 45 minutes, but always at least 30 minutes, and most times 45-50 minutes.

    Savinelli Pipe Overheats

I am curious which Savinelli you have? I recently purchased a Savinelli Bing Extra Long pipe. I have been smoking this pipe every other day for two weeks. It has gotten warm between my fingers, but never HOT.

What's New with Me (AKA: "I Still Exist"), and The Journey

I am all in on this statement... I don't do "show pieces". Some folks do, and that's all well and good, but I don't have time or space for things that I just look at. I had a '69 Corvette that people wanted me to make a show car and I refused. (Let's not talk about the fact that I totalled that...

What's New with Me (AKA: "I Still Exist"), and The Journey

Well, there is a skill I wish I had. Keep it up, and show us pictures of the new stand! Impressive!
