    Smoking Outdoors

I enjoy fishing from a kayak when the temps warm up. Thinking this year I'd like to bring a pipe along. Can anyone give me a good recommendation of some sort of "caddy" or "pouch" that's pretty small? I travel very light when I fish from a kayak, as there's not too much storage room...

    New Forever Stem

A Phantom Gray "forever stem" was in my mailbox yesterday.....affixed it to an estate MM Washington I picked up from an estate lot on Ebay. I shortened the shank a bit, the stem is 2"......sorry for the phone pics :?

    Pressing Tobacco at Home

Looks like Acme used a similar process (though with a shop press) and had pretty good results......looks like I'll have to add this to my project list :D

    Pressing Tobacco at Home

I've been watching some tube videos about pressing tobaccos at home. I've seen various wooden and metal "boxes" being pressed by log splitters, bearing presses and C-clamps. The Dagner's appear to have the best contraption I've come across, basically a SS tube with a set bottom and a cap that...

    P&C Delivery

The snow is falling, and the outside temp is 21. The yards are just beginning to be covered, so I loaded a bowl of Graduation Day into a Dr Grabow Duke and headed down to the garage. My initial thoughts/observations are as follows..... - 1 char light and a single re-light is all I needed to...

    P&C Delivery

I just jarred everything up and the Graduation Day blend is quite interesting.....you can definitely smell the latakia, but as I stood there transferring from bag to jar, I could pick up a hint of sweetness, an almost brown sugary smell. This tobacco is the driest I've received to date, but not...

    P&C Delivery

With this delivery, I've gathered all the Frog Morton series....though only smoked the original. It was very nice. Until smoking it, I'd only smoked aromatics, and was a bit nervous it would be over powering....that latakia has a very strong scent....it was a wonderful smoke, quite mellow and...

    P&C Delivery

The blend I put together for Graduation Day is 50% Red Virginia(5oz), 20% Black Cavendish(2oz), 20% Toasted Burley(2oz) and 10% Latakia(1oz). I was shooting for a slightly sweet and a little smokey blend that would be fairly mild. I ended up reaching out to Russ over at P&C before my purchase...

    P&C Delivery

Arrived home today to find a medium sized box on my porch. Small tin of Frog Morton Across the Pond, large tin of Frog Morton Cellar, 3oz of 1-Q and 8oz of a My Own Blend I called Graduation Day (a portion will be a gift for a soon-to-be grad)......I'm currently sanitizing Ball jars to get this...

    "My Own Blend" Help

So....I emailed Russ last night, and this morning bright and early, he responded by giving me the reassurance I was looking for. He felt my proposed blend will be slightly sweet and a little smokey. Props to Russ for taking a minute to help out a noob! I'm ordering right now!

    I Now Have a 5 Pipe Rotation

Ahhh.....I do have a Country Gentlemen, but it's at the GF's house. As for the leather stands, I must admit, I "borrowed" the general idea after performing a google search.....changed things just enough to make them a little different though. Unfortunately for my wallet, I'm a "tinkerer".....I...

    I Now Have a 5 Pipe Rotation

Those pipe stands are made from leather. Took a couple of old belts and cut into appropriate lengths. Drilled a hole and attached a "binder post" from a hardware store....similar to what holds a scrap book together. After that, cut an angle on the top so the pipe would fit properly.

First smoke from a restored estate

A few weeks back, I cleaned up a few estate pipes....a couple of which, I've turned into smokers. One of those is a Dr Grabow Duke bulldog.....with a pretty tiny bowl. Over the last few days, I picked up a couple Frog Morton varieties, and decided that I'd give one a try.....Frog on a...

    "My Own Blend" Help

Hi Folks......I'd like to use P&C to put together "my own blend" as a graduation gift for my GF's son. I'm new to all this pipe smoking, and realize that a blend can go horribly wrong if the ingredients don't play well together. Here is my question....can anyone here give me some "general...
