Coffee, black, in the morning. Tea w/honey in the afternoon and evening. I recently quit drinking (which means I have maybe a beer and a nightcap of scotch, ha!), so I been having a lot of tea lately.
Had to turn the heat on in Minnesota on Monday. It was 57F in the house. I grew up on the plains of North Dakota, much like the Canadian plains but marginally warmer. Nothing to stop the wind for hundreds of miles. So my comfort in Minnesota is that, no matter how bad it is here, it's worse...
I can offer a different perspective here. At one time in my life, I was a functional potter. I made pots to be used. I didn't want to hear that someone was going to put my tea pot on the mantle. Sometimes I would tell people if I found out they weren't using the pot, I'd come to their house...
I agree that a good pipe doesn't necessarily need to pass the pipe cleaner test. It is nice to be able to do though. I generally think the moisture during s smoke has more to do with technique and tabac moisture. What I look for is a good mortise/tenon fit. The better the fit, the easier to...
I'm not even really sure what a hipster is. If I am one, it's purely accidental. I've certainly never been described as hip, or even cool to my knowledge. I have been described as the most interesting man in the world. Again, I'm not really sure what that meant....
I'm known in the mile...
Yah, I especially love the smoke-free household ones! So dumb...
I saw one today that said, "no chatter" and there dents and scratches all over the stem. Don't think he knew what chatter meant.
hmmm, looks close, but not quite right. I looked at all the crowns there and didn't find it....
Thanks for the link, though. I was looking for that earlier and couldn't find it
dmcmtk, that's good to know. Regardless of who made them, they used good wood and lots of it. The walls are thick and the grain is nice and free of fills.
These two soon-to-be beauties arrived in the mail yesterday! A pair of Mayfair. IIRC, Mayfair is a Sasieni second, which has me very excited to clean them up and see how they smoke. I was surprised to see that they both are non-removable stinger stems. I will post more pics once they are...
Very nice! Man, I haven't bought a new pipe in sooo long. I keep buying estates and fixing them up. I see these nice, shiny new ones and start missing the puppy smell. lol I'm gonna have to put a new pipe on the Christmas list.
I doubt that PAD demon will be appeased for long!
Mmm mouth-watering delivery! Better than pizza, lol. Let me know how you like the Mazatec. I liked it, but for some reason, it doesn't draw me back like others do. Stupid thing is that, everytime I have a bowl I think, "Hm, this is good."
