    Smallest Chamber Peterson

Thanks everyone. Good calls. For now I’ve gone for a 317 as it was a very good price and needs a bit of renovation which I like. Now I need to sit back and wait for the elusive 1960 English Hallmarked Holy Grail. It’s just that I keep spotting “must haves” while looking. ;)

    Smallest Chamber Peterson

Hi Can someone tell me which Peterson has the smallest chamber please? I've looked at 317 and 31. 317 looks smaller of the two? Are there any others? System or non-system. Cheers Niall

Apparently the French didn't put their names on the pipes they produced. (between the wars)

I've just seen St Claude in "the book" - using Algerian and Moroccan Briar.

    The auld Peterson hallmark issue

Thanks OzPiper. The French part is interesting. Presumably they were still called Petersons? Or was the French company using its own name?

    The auld Peterson hallmark issue

So, likely to be the "what if" scenario?
  16. LiamClanNastey

    The auld Peterson hallmark issue

So, we know that Peterson didn't use the UK Assay office for Hallmarks between 1939-1968. However, I came across the attached as a 1960 hallmark and all the other "missing" dates. So, is this a Dublin hallmark or and English one on a "what-if Peterson had used it" basis?

Thanks for that. Really interesting. I’ll see what happens with this order and then maybe give it a go.
