Hope all down South have weathered the Storms..

My sister is in Birmingham AL. They spent most of yesterday and last night in the basement. They were spared the worst of it though. Alabama got hammered hard as did other areas. Last I heard was over 200 dead and better than 1000 injured. Prayers for all of them and their families. Here's a...

    The U.S. is Effed Up

mlaug, the Snopes version is from 1995. The posted version is from 2001 when he retired. It was also printed in 1985 and that version is a little different too.

Is it me... or are P-lip stems the best?

I have one p-lip that smokes very well. If I didn't clench my pipes I would probably buy more of them.

    What Did You do Today?

I installed this: It's an automatic sliding door. 21 feet wide 10 feet tall. Damn they make those things heavy. It has to be assembled on the floor and then stood up into the hole. I hurt all over. I'm getting too old for this. Must be time to hire more people.

    New Pipes.

$28.00 I have no idea of their value, but the price seemed fair to me.

Welp, Roommate Burnt Down the Kitchen

Ouch!! That's going to be a pain to fix. Nothing lingers like burned plastic. That's going to be a tough smell to cover. I'd start by scrubbing everything in the room to get rid of the soot. And I do mean everything. Pay particular attention to the ceiling. Good Luck! PS, you should have seen...

    New Pipes.

I stopped in a Antique store today and they had a couple of pipes I picked up. One is a Kaywoodie 99B The other is also a Kaywoodie by the logo, but there are no numbers or any other markings on it. Both of them were brand new never smoked. The shop owner said he bought them from a Kaywoodie...

Not Meant to be a Pipe Smoking Day

I vote for the crud as well. I came down with it Saturday. It isn't worth wasting the tobacco in the pipe. I might as well be smoking lawn clipping. I can't wait for it to be over.

    Your Favorite Material Items

I don't own anything I couldn't live without. The one thing I have the most fun with is my Spitfire. I enjoy tinkering with is and making it better and faster. I love driving it. That said, it's just a car. At some point it will start to bore me and something else will replace it at the top of...

    What Did You do Today?

Yesterday I tilled an acre to plant a garden, changed the garbage disposal in the kitchen and started peeling the wood grain vinyl off my 93 Roadmaster Wagon. By 10 pm I was starting to feel like crap. This morning it isn't any better. I foresee a day of movies and playing on the computer unless...

List Your Other Hobbies / Interests

Uncle Arthur, I've got a 1861 Ingraham wall clock on my bench now. It just needs a little TLC. Finding the time to work on it has been a challenge. This is probably my favorite. It's a 1900 Seth Thomas Seville. Lonestar, thanks for the link. We have a John Deere B in the works now. We just...

Reading, mostly SF/Fantasy. Autocross and SCCA time trials with the Triumph in my Avatar. Building cars for racing. The only thing Triumph in my Spitfire is the body. It's powered by a Mazda rotary engine and has a custom built suspension using Miata parts. I'm working on a Honda Civic to run a...
