Huge fan of the boer. I have the Wally Frank Collector (from that 1939 ad above), as well as 2 others (of the same shape...different finishes), and then boers by other brands. Excellent smokers. They are definitely a departure from "standard" pipe shapes, but I love'm. -

I organized a tour of the Grabow factory which just happened in June. The GM was willing to do it on a day that their factory machinery was not in operation. We still got to go thru the entire place, and then had the opportunity to buy new / old stock stuff in the back room. I'll likely...- joeman

Dr. Grabow in my Collection, At Last
I was just up in Sparta 3 weekends ago, visiting the man responsible for the Grabow Uniques (1959/60) and the Grabow Continental shapes (1960 - 64). He's still kicking and smoking a pipe. I used to organize yearly tours of the Grabow factory until they shut that opportunity down several years... -

It's a shame to not know who made your pipe. There are a LOT of small time pipe makers who do get their own trademarking tool made, but they don't receive enough recognition to make it to Pipedia, Pipephil, nor to be discussed on forums. That pipe sure looks nice though. -
Linkman’s Grabow Question
I disagree with 1945 - 55. Grabows made after 1944 were not stamped with the Linkman name. Your pipe has 1930's written all over it, despite the missing information. The custom 'propeller' (which were often so custom that you'd think someone used a hatchet to cut it in) and the linkman...
