The New Tariffs and Buying Abroad

As a Canadian who frequently buys from the US, I unfortunately have a lot of experience with this. I once bought an item at 50% off, only to be shocked by the duty charged. I asked some questions and realized that the retailer had the shipping company fill out the customs form... and they used...

    Rattray's

All of HOTW, OG and Brown Clunee are excellent. Listed here in descending order of strength, IMO. Marlin Flake is a "cousin" to these three as it includes cavendish. Also fantastic but sweeter and milder, in my experience. Try them all!

Time To Give Up The Hobby

Yep it's gotten worse and I imagine as they make use of more technology it will get worse still.

Time To Give Up The Hobby

This is a good strategy for shipping tobacco into Canada. There is no official amount for "personal use." I've had a $4 pouch of Half and Half assessed for $30 of tax. BUT by splitting shipments up into smaller amounts, some will sneak through, and the ones that are caught won't be quite so...

    McConnell Blends

They go in and out of stock occasionally. No need to start rumours.

    Vapers? Hmm.. Yes!

Some great suggestions here. I like a little dark fired with my vapers. For the price you can't beat the Rattray's Trinity: HOTW, Old Gowrie, and Brown Clunee (in order of personal preference). Scottish Cake is also amazing. Solani 633 for something more light and sweet. Salty Dogs for...

Seattle Pipe Club Vegas show announcement.

I admit that I did go a bit crazy stocking up on Mississippi River and MRSR when I thought it might disappear forever. I'm kinda set for life on that one.

Trying Different Blends - HU Directors Cut

To my tastes, Director's Cut is a smoother version of Doblone D'Oro. It's also double the price. If you don't mind a bit more rough burley (I think it's dark fired Kenyan leaf) I recommend Doblone.

What Cigar Are You Smoking? 2025

Finally got around to trying a Stillwell Star. The Bayou is going to be discontinued and so I snagged some to try while I still could. I'm a perique lover so I was very excited for this. It was... underwhelming. The cigar leaf was quite mild - tasty, but mild. I think this is necessary to allow...

    Happy Gilmore 2

Thought someone would at least mention John Daly smoking a pipe at the beginning of this one....

What's Your Favorite C&D Small Batch Release??

I'm a big VaPer guy and Anthology 2022 is an all timer for me. Smoking it right now, in fact.

XXV Reserve: A Celebration of 25 Years of Smokingpipes

The original Anthology was one of the best VaPers I've ever had. When C&D gets it right, they really hit it out of the park. Given the components and what should be an active resale market down the road it's worth taking the risk to stock up on a blend I've never had before. Dusk sounds like my...

Rattray’s Old Gowrie OR McConnell’s Scottish Flake?

Love them both but in their respective families I prefer Hal o the Wynd and Scottish Cake.
