That's what i figured. They must be closing down warehouses. Cheaper to blow out the inventory than to move it.

How Tight to Stuff a Mason?

I don't know what the right answer is. One caution I would give is that if you pack your jar to the brim, be very careful about tobacco bits compromising the rubber seal around the lid.

Same Class as Carolina Red Flake w/Perique

Yep that original Anthology remains a favorite of mine.

What Will Be The Most Sought-After Sutliff Blends 5 Years From Now?

Almost certain it will somehow live on but Mississippi River SR has a real unique tang to its Virginias that I'm not sure future productions will be able to replicate.

    What Sutliff Products to Purchase?

I'm most curious about the fate of the SPC blends. Seems they have positioned themselves as a "luxury" tobacco with prices (and I assume, margins) to match. Would this be worth keeping alive for STG? How much will the taste/quality change? Or could SPC pivot to C&D? Brands like Plum Pudding and...

Climate Change and Its Impact on Tobacco Quality

This has nothing to do with tobacco, but makes some interesting points about climate hysteria: Some people here might love it. Others might hate it. But it's worth watching because it outlines a narrative we don't get exposed to by the mainstream media.

    SWR over time

The vinegar seems to be a recent phenomenon. I have some pouches I bought in late '22 that are made in Denmark and they are fine. Have not bought any recently to compare but I'm not sure that's necessary due to the unanimity of the commentary.

STG closes Mac Baren and Sutliff

Is there, though? The "small batch" release numbers seem to go up every year, and still always sell out. Maybe it's becoming more of a "hobby" than a daily activity and dollars are shifting from drug store pouches to the higher end stuff, in which case there should be higher profit margins overall.

STG closes Mac Baren and Sutliff

No official pronouncement from STG, either. I'd caution against overreacting based on a single line from a crudely translated article.

Not bad considering they had the HUs up at the same time!

HU Tobacco Coming to the States

This isn't unique to pipe tobacco. I've seen the same thing with cigars and scotch. Movies have gotten worse over the decades. Hell, even music ain't as good as it used to be. Oh, and if I talked to my parents the way my kids talk to me I'd have received a few lashes with dad's belt. Wait...

HU Tobacco Coming to the States

Never had any HU but they seem to have a lot of VA/Burley/Perique blends which is right in my wheelhouse... Curious how these would compare to the Rattray's blends... which I love.
