    Could just be a lot of tar build up. Clean it good with Q-tips and alcohol and then see what it looks like.

    I've heard one had to be careful with some of the old Comoy "straight grain" designations. I never got it figured out but I was told some of them weren't as high of a grade as one would presume with that designation.

    Didn't some of those "straight grain" designations have fills? Not counting the Blue Riband of course.

    That was a real love hate tobacco. I liked it but at the time I smoked it,1980's, it was the strangest thing. The lakelands weren't around my area and it was surely a different tobacco at the time.
