    Smoking in Humid Environments

    Texas Gulf Coast here where the humidity I’d high most of the year, but especially high in the summer. I usually open a tin and let it dry a bit before even trying to smoke it. I even have a dry box for my cigars. Most of my smoking is done on my commute in my air conditioned truck which helps too.

    It is red snapper. Good eating fish for sure, but I equally enjoy the tilefish and grouper. Tuna is great table fare as well!

    As. Ad as I want to try it, McClellands cigar blend just doesn’t do it for me. I burn my tongue every time I smoke it because there is not enough flavor for me.

    Any Arduino Programmers In The House?

    I started building a bbq pit controller with an Arduino, then we moved and it is still in storage. You can find lots of code online to run. It may be easier to modify an existing code to take input from a thermocouple and hydrometer and control fans and/or heaters with a pwm output. Good luck!

    Ever Had A Blend Be Too Strong?

    Ever had a car too fast? Ever had a woman too pretty? I have never had a pipe tobacco too strong, but I have had a cigar make me sweaty and nauseous a few times. Just this week, I had an AJ Fernandez/Caldwell cigar do this to me. I ate a few pieces of fresh pineapple and was better pretty quick.

    Va/Per Dark-Fired Trend

    GLP Penny Farthing is a new VA, KY, perique blend. It is a fine shag cut, so fine that you can roll cigarettes with it. My impression is the tobacco starts out really good with sweet and tangy notes and becomes a bit muddled and irritating about half way through.
