I Am Afraid My Pipes Are Ruined, Looking for Advice

Make sure he's getting the kid to pay for the replacements, after that worry about cleaning the old ones. A bill for $400 should teach a lesson.

    Garage Smoking Safe?

Unless the gas cans are emptied out on the ground or on yourself, or unless you plan on running the car with the garage doors closed you're safe.

Best Pipe Wax Available? (In Canada)

Carnuba comes in hard bar form, the hardness is what gives it the ability to stay shiny. Avoid using it on textured pipes as it builds up in crevices. Think I picked mine up from Lee Valley. A buffing wheel (cloth) at lower speed on a Dremmel or bench buffer works well. Paragon or Halcyon II...

Why List a Pipe That's Sold?

Smokingpipes still has them buried on their site but the price is removed and they don't come up through normal search. I've found sold out items via Google when looking for a specific model. Seeing the old price would be nice.

Mac Baren HH Vintage Syrian Is Going Away

Added a tin to an order a couple of months back, gave it a try after seeing the other thread. Damn that's smooth. Ordered more!

    Those New Mcclelland Prices

I stopped in at my local Canadian shop the other day. Prices were almost the same, a little more for some blends. I chatted a while about it, they were completely aware of the McClelland situation and weren't jacking up the prices at least.

    Frog Morton In Stock

Been meaning to grab some froggies I haven't tried yet for a while now. Grabbed a few last week when I heard there might be no more, glad I did! Just my luck I'll discover I love Deep Hollow or On the Town now...

An Examination of Headspace in Erinmore Tobacco

Headspace could be referring to the vapors/odors trapped in a tin, but since it mentioned 1oz packages (cardboard and waxed paper from the pictures) its probably vapors collected from the top of a sealed sample container that is slowly heated with the tobacco in it. Since most chemicals have...

If I Like Gaslight I'll Should Also Try?

Gaslight reminds me of hanging out by the rail yards or taking the train places when I was a kid. I find its smokeyness has an old industrial quality that I like. Can't think of much else quite like it, but C&D Pirate Kake with a cup of coffee was similar.

Do You Like smokingpipes.com New Website's Design?

It will take some getting used to. Navigation has become much more painful with all the gimmicky web design bells and whistles. They also broke their "New pipes" ad links to the forums here.

Canadian ordering from the USA, the TAX man got me.

400% or so mark up over US prices is about average for the few B&Ms around me that carry pipe tobacco, and they have a much more limited selection. As long as the taxes are correctly applied it still comes out about even or cheaper to order. I still visit shops now and then when I want something...

June Pax Tobacco Crawl with New Head Blender for C&D - Jeremy Reeves

I've been trying the BB but I don't think I've figured it out. Middle of the bowl is where it smokes better for me. The bourbon is subtle and I haven't been able to pick out much, still enjoyable though. At this point I could see getting PK and AE again, I'll need to finish the tins of FOS and...

French inhaling. Finally I can taste tobacco!

You don't need a lung full to get the scent, just long enough to get a little into your sinuses. I find it can really bring out flavors.
