    DFW was an excellent author. I actually find his posthumously published novel "The Pale King" to be both his best work for a beginner and also possibly his best overall. It's such a shame that he never managed to finish it.

    Great point about the edge.i added a slight bevel on the interior using a round spoon. I'm hesitant to touch the outer edge as I'm worried about my ability to keep it even all around. Any tips?

    Just got this estate Peterson 314.My first Peterson. It had some pretty bad rim charring but is decent other than that. As you can see, if sanded down the rim to remove the worst of the charring. My question is: do I now just need to apply some leather dye to the exposed briar on the rim? Or...
