Anyone buys Amphora pouches sold in Canada? I`ve acquired one recently (Black Cavendish), to find out the pouch is not vacuum-sealed. I'm just wondering if it's a one off thing or if there's been a change.

Okay, a little bump. Somebody in Canada must have bought a pouch of Amphora recently!?
My pouch says: 'S.R. Dark Cavendish', which is Black Cavendish; that it's imported by Brigham; and there's no mention of Mac Baren.
Now, I've seen other pouches where it mentions it's manufactured by Mac Baren.
The thing is, this pouch was not vacuum-sealed. I've never seen this and am wondering if others bumped into this?

Not sure about Canada market Amphora pouches in particular, but not all pouches have a seal, none of them are totally airtight. Most plastic pouches I've encountered don't have a seal, but some of the foil/mylar type pouches do have an adhesive seal. Would not trust it for long term storage.

Amphora is gone btw - axed during the STG massacre acquisition of MacBaren/Sutliff.

I know you`re trying to be helpful, mate. However I do need a Canadian buying Amphora in Canada to shed some light on my question.
This brand is strong on the Canadian market and has not been discontinued.

It has been discontinued, whats in Canada is whats left of what Brigham had in stock, Brigham being the distributor for the MacBaren stuff in Canada. It has 110% absolutely been discontinued as in not in production anymore so if you have access to anything from them you enjoy at your local B&M, stock up and hoard if you can because once Brighams well is dry, its gone, forever.

Signed, a Manitoban.

PS I never paid attention to the seals on the Kentucky and Virginia from Amphora that I stocked up on I just jarred it all up. Never just leave pouches. Immediately jar it once you get it.

Amphora Kentucky was/is one of my favorite every day blends, simple and amazing. I have a few pounds and ill be so heartbroken when its gone forever.

I never tried Amphora, but the bundles of a pouch of each Amphora blend offered by some of the online retailers looked like a convenient way for a new pipe smoker to try different genres of tobacco. It’s a shame it is going away.

in Europe where Amphoras are widely available they come in a high-quality foiled pouches with an adhesive seal, whereas last time when I got few pouches of Amphora Reds from Spain I was surprised noticing packages were different to those sold in Netherlands & Germany,,inferior quality so to say, with no foil inside

In Canada we have this ugly plain packaging thing going on with all tobacco products. The packages your Amphora blends and the ones on our market will be very different.

I don’t recall either if sealed, but seem to remember the US pouches I ordered not having a good seal inside, but good quality pouches I still use sometimes to this day as carriers, i ordered a bunch around 2020. As for the lame green brown Canadian communist packs, not sure haven’t bought any, only a few cigars though I do feel guilty not supporting local B and Ms, but hate the green packs!

After reading @Wapask feedback, I contacted a few tobacconists. For the most part they believe Amphora is done in Canada; and the memo is get what you can before it's gone.

Wow, what a disappointment!

I've been smoking a pipe for close to 40 years and Amphora blends were always part of the landscape. I've enjoyed Black Cavendish, Full Aroma and Rich Aroma, which remains a favorite.

I thought they were part of the bestsellers in this country; I'm saddened to see them go away. Even of the price tag has become retarded. Because to me, it's better to buy online in the country than go through the BS of buying abroad and have to deal with customs.

Yeah bro, the STG vikings attacked the Mac Baren/ Sutliff villages and burned everything to the ground last year.
