It just called to me. I am putting myself out there. I think I paid ok/fair money given the market. Thoughts?

1977 GBD MILLENNIUM HORRY JAMESON CARVED HUGE FREEEHAND (Sorry for caps. it's the auction title.)
I missed that one completely. Wow, what a pipe. Sometimes those Uniques are too over the top, yours looks perfect. I don't recall seeing any GBD with an 18k gold band nor any other Millennium stamped pipes. That is top dollar for a GBD, but I doubt you'll ever find another one.

Cool pipe! At today's prices, the melt value of the gold band could be $100 or more. I've seen Uniques sell for around that price, but none were as nice as yours.

I seem to vaguely recall a reference to specials being handmade pipes given by certain of Peterson’s master pipemakers to guests during tours?
I believe those were just stamped 'Hand Made'. There has always been confusion because Peterson has a 'Hand Made' line of pipes that are almost certainly NOT hand made. But it could be that those are also stamped 'Special'.

There is another line of Petersons stamped 'Special' in cursive/italic that were a short-lived line of pipes.

This is really weird - the last two pipes I bought on ebay were these two. Both are London Hallmark 1950 211's. I think the odds of that are pretty slim....but I'm not complaining.

The bottom one has an incorrect stem, but I have an old Peterson amber saddle stem that has almost the exact same measurements as #1.

Yeah, my house pipe is stamped hand-made but recall a Mark Irwin post talking about how house pipes are stamped with that when they're not actually hand-made with no idea why they do that.
