No, not the .41 Rimfire. The .41 Rimfire is a low pressure, black powder cartridge developed in the 1800’s. The cartridge in question is the .41 Remington Magnum which is a modern, smokeless, centerfire cartridge.

I wonder if Pop worked on these. He worked for Remington Arms, redesigning their equipment for manufacturing bullets to improve their quality and speed of production.

If memory serves, Mr. Keith was instrumental in Smith developing their Model 19 K-Frame .357 revolvers. One of the best commercial handguns ever made, in my humble opinion.
I would think Elmer is instantly recognizable to most wheel gun enthusiasts.

Unfortunately for the world of wheel guns, there were too many 45 Colts made to low pressure standards by the time he was doing his work.
I say that, because as a guy with a few 44mags that has shot 45Colts loaded to “Ruger only” loads I believe there would’ve been no need for the 44M and posit Elmer would’ve agreed. More punch, but a much better recoil impulse.
That said, I’m not worried about encountering anything on two or four legs in the lower 48 that’ll shrug off a Keith 240gr SWC launched at 1300fps
