I don't want to derail this but since we're talking revolvers I thought I'd add this. If you haven't seen it,take a look,it's amazing.
I am a dyed in the wool wheel gunner and avidly read Keith, Skelton and Jordon articles ever since I was a kid. I have a particular fondness for the Model 19 and have a 6" and 2.5" the latter is amazing, one of the most accurate pistols I own. I EDC'd a S&W 442 for many years and still do from time to time. 158 grains is a wonderful thing.
I also enjoy 44 mag and have a Blackhawk in that caliber. I don't shoot it as often these days because it is expensive to feed but when I'm hunting it comes with me. I really like .45 Colt but don't currently have any in my collection.
I love my 1911s and if I am knowingly heading into questionable social situations, they get the nod but the 442 will be riding backup.
