Received this pipe a little over a week ago. Still trying to get info on it. Specifically what the significance of the clover stamp is next to the serial number. Have seen some conflicting info.

Peterson Centenary 87s
1875-1975
Serial: ☘️ 1/58
Condition: unsmoked
Packaging: missing

Is that the condenser it came with? That's pretty sweet! Looks like it might be brass.

Also it's crazy that in 1975 they didn't know when Peterson started but I guess it's fair since they'd been around over 100 years and everything was on paper.

By the way, can someone tell me when the name went from Kapp & Peterson to mainly Peterson?
It’ is. Another Peterson owner thought it may be aftermarket. But I’m not sure. Still doing my research on it.

Beautiful. Will you go for matching finishes? And do you have the original rack?
Ive got two of the original racks, one filled with the first year releases of each pipe in matching finishes and the other one with variois finishes.1000024738.jpg This rack will have a hodge podge of finishes as ive got a Rathbone in rusticated, a Barley Milverton and a Hansom in terracotta already. Maybe one day I'll fill it with matching pipes.

Well, after a little research, i settled on another Newgrange. This time the B10 in stead of the XL90.

Newgrange B10.jpg

Newgrange B10 rim.jpg

Length: 5.47 in./138.94 mm.
Weight: 1.70 oz./48.19 g.
Bowl Height: 1.90 in./48.26 mm.
Chamber Depth: 1.57 in./39.88 mm.
Chamber Diameter: 0.76 in./19.30 mm.
Outside Diameter: 1.60 in./40.64 mm.

Respectable length, light weight, bowl height - chamber depth ratio shows decent wood on bottom and i dig the thicker rim on this than the XL90. After settling on the model and then checking websites and calling retailers i settled on a brand spanky one. Now i'm done buying pipes for a while. I think...

Oh, and i dig the acrylic stem. I know some prefer rubber; to each their own. Just an ease of maintenance thing for me, really. And i only clench P/T, so no biggie on the teeth.

Big fan of the Newgrange line and B10.
