For Anyone Curious: A Look at the Latest White Spot Catalogs

I know Dunhill can be a controversial subject around here, often sparking debates about quality, investment value, or the elusive 'perfect smoke'. Still, I follow some of their products out of curiosity because I find them quite interesting. The commemorative editions are particularly appealing for their historical and cultural themes. There are also some curious items, like the walking cane — not a new concept, of course, but a fascinating object nonetheless.

I've just received the last four catalogs from the factory (which are already available on Pipedia), and I'm sharing them below for anyone who might be curious.

Product News 2022-1: this catalog launches multiple limited edition pipe series with historical themes, including Tutankhamun, Graham Bell, Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee, and the finale of "The Nutcracker" series. It also introduces new sartorial cigar cases.
Product News 2024-2: the focus of this catalog is the introduction of the "Bulldog" line, featuring a walking cane, pipe caddy, and humidor. It also releases pipes honoring King Edward VIII and continues "The Happy Prince" Christmas series.
Product News 2023-2: this catalog presents limited edition pipes celebrating British milestones, such as the Suffragette movement and the Battersea Power Station. Additionally, it kicks off the new 7-year "The Happy Prince" Christmas series.
Product News 2021-3: this catalog is a special edition focused solely on the 2021 Christmas Pipe. The piece is the 11th in "The Nutcracker" series and represents the Sugar Plum Fairy.

Good point =). These catalogs cover all the main releases from the past three years, and I don't believe this year's (2025) has been launched.

You're right, many recent pipes feature silver mounts. Could you be a bit more specific? I'd be interested to know if there's a model that comes to mind that wasn't featured in these releases.

Haha, absolutely spot on! One feels rather underdressed reviewing these catalogs without a tweed jacket... While you're channeling the North, my internal monologue has defaulted to a terribly posh London accent. It seems the only appropriate way to appreciate the sheer, unapologetic Britishness of a 'Platinum Jubilee' pipe...

Fun stuff! For an integrated design, I like the Battersea commemorative best.
The Tutankhamen theme is nice, though it would have been better if it was less flat.
Back in the early 70’s, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art held an exhibition of artifacts from his tomb. I was invited to the pre opening gala, which was great because one could see everything without dealing with crowds of people.
There was a buffet staged on a replica of an ancient Egyptian boat, with many dishes that would have been enjoyed in Tutankhamen’s time, along with more familiar fare. Great fun!
