Earlier, I smoked a bowl of KBV Burley Morning Pipe beta test in a 1960s Austrian meerschaum bent apple with a tapered yellow stem.

Currently, I'm not far from finishing this bowl of year 2020 Mac Baren Scottish Mixture in a straight, smooth brown 1960s Lane era Charatan Special 38 bulldog with a black vulcanite saddle stem.

Just finished smoking year 2015 Mac Baren Virginia #1 in a straight smooth brown pre-1920s W.D.C. Bakelite bulldog with an electro silver band and tapered black vulcanite stem with an orific bit. Watching the Braves-Orioles game. It'll be interesting to see how Charlie Morton does against his former Braves teammates.

Today I filled an empty Davidson's tin with three full flakes of Sutliffe 507-c rubbed out and one large pinch of Lane 1Q thoroughly mixed in like tossed salad. I smoked two bowls in the Vauen Olaf bent egg. Very pleasant and tasty combo that smoked slowly and dry ... no dottle. I'll be enjoying this the rest of the weekend while I ponder which pipes to rotate, because, as you can tell I am truly partial to the Vauen but a bit addicted to it. The Vauen is slowly replacing my 42 yr old Savinelli 2614ks as a favorite pipe and I have to force myself to smoke some of the other pipes otherwise I might as well sell them. Change can be difficult. ;) I hope everyone had and has a wonderful relaxing 4th of July weekend.

Smoking some current production F&T Evans Blend in the Merton prince. It's a very pleasant unflavored VA/Cav ribbon, a nice warm weather smoke.
I'm drinking some locally made Munich-style lager which I'm also using to poach some brats before they get finished on the grill. Happy 4th of July to all!

I don't drink anymore, but man do I still crave a beer and a brat on a hot day! Don't get better than that!
