I'd rather ask for forgiveness, then beg for permission.

Just kidding, she doesn't care at all.
Occasionally she will ask if there is a pipe I want, or any tobacco I need.
I then know she wants a purse, or shoes, or whatever chick's buy.
We don't have kids, we don't drink or do drugs, no gambling, no expensive vices. So we buy what we want. For me it's pipes, tobacco, firearms, and cars and car parts.
For her its.......whatever dames like. :)
LOL. Understood! My wife doesn't ask about my pipe-shit-buying addiction; I say nothing wayward of her quilting/knitting room. The bills are paid, and we all only get a few laps around the sun.

I'd actually love it if my wife showed a fraction of an ounce of interest in my stash. But I'll take "It's a nice night. If you don't want to watch Survivor, why don't you go outside?"

Laudisi has the equipment , machinery , & knowledge to replace Sutliff ???
For blending components, etc.? I don't recall anything coming out of Sutliff that STG or Laudisi couldn't technically provide. They all do flakes and cakes. Whether they do it or not is a different story.

But if the questions is "where are B&Ms going to get processed components?"....then yes, I'd argue options exist at both Laudisi and STG.

Ive bought more Sutliff tobacco in the last month than ever before.
Not because they are going away, it's just that BECAUSE they are going away, everyone has been talking about their blends that I've never tried. :)
My wife asked what was in the box I was carrying into the vault. I told her it was NONE OF HER BUSINESS!!
Sooooo, she followed me in. After looking at the 50 tins I was adding to the stash, she called me a druggie. :(
You guys are enablers!

Nobody to blame but oneself, when they tell their wife that! Gotta think quicker man! Tell em it's a part for the lawnmower or router bits or something else hardware related. Make up imaginary garage related DIY projects that she would find too mundane to question.

Never, ever, tell a woman that!

I was having a rough day and my wife brought home a tin of Plum Pudding bourbon barrel aged that was on the shelf at a tobacconist by her work. She knew I liked that one and that it was discontinued. Misty-eyed I said "I knew you were the one."

True story from this week.

You gotta appreciate the good ones. Mine smokes vanilla and chocolate aromatics occasionally, has her own well organized cellar and collection of pipes, likes the way latakia smells, tolerates the expansive blending projects that leak into the livingspace and cheers me on when I find batshit expensive unicorn tins to squirrel away.

A month ago, she surprised me with a matching set of 'his and her' Vauen Auenland churchwardens and demanded that we spend the weekend rewatching the LotR movies while we puff on the new briar.

I'm exceptionally fortunate and grateful.

This is 100% my experience as well! I can only help but notice that I go through my tobacco horde a lot faster than she goes through her quilting fabric stash.

Lol, new fabrics are “low quality” I’m told and the “good ole” quality fabric either is given to us by nice elderly ladies or purchased for very high prices……I’m told. Maybe there should be a fabric market here? 😉

I was looking for a change of pace tonight so I cracked a tin of Sutliff Orchard Mist. I haven’t smoked this in a few years and had forgotten how good it is. It is a nice aromatic created by packing the tobacco in peach brandy barrels for 90 days. I have three more tins after this one. It is one I would always keep on hand if I could, but when these tins are gone that’s it.

I get a light peach aroma and taste with plenty of vanilla also. I do not get any brandy or alcohol, just a natural peach with no chemical taste. The tobacco itself has a nice burley/VA flavor. I don’t recall a prominent aftertaste. I will smoke a bowl tonight after work and pay attention for that and get back to you.

I have a very dull sense of smell/taste so take that into consideration.

Roll back the hostility a bit. Your question just sounded like you'd never tried it.

Could say the same about rolling a year back to try to hit me with some "gotcha journalism" on a forum.

I thought that was the best way to ask a question in a neutral manner without 'leading the witness' so to speak.
