That is a bummerFinally got around to opening some Stonehaven tinned by The Bufflehead Shop from 2005, only to discover a whole bunch of rust... I have also had this happen with an old tin of McClellands. A solid reminder to enjoy our tobaccos sooner rather than not at all.

I’m willing to venture a guess that smoking rust is a not advisable. So shitty. So sorry for your loss.
Forgive my ignorance but does that mean it’s unsmokeable?
It’s been kept in a climate controlled space. These things just happen.I smoked nutmeg when I was in middle school. I was told it got you buzzed......that wasn't true.
Rust can't be THAT much worse....right?
I wonder if this has anything to do with where it was stored. Ive opened many 20-30+ year old tins, never any rust or mold.....or mould for you weirdos.
I keep my tobacco in my climate controlled gun vault.
I'm with ya, I'd smoke that s@#t.I'll bet it smokes just fine.
I'm your lab rat.
