Decided to have some Ruins of Windsor by The Country Squire in a Comoy Sunrise Rhodesian model 284. It is a fine little pipe and a pleasure to smoke.
Our own Al Jones (@ssjones ) did a wonderful article on the restoration of one of these in Reborn pipes. Here's a link if any of you are interested:

Kinikinik you say, I’m not familiar and I must look this up.

It's also called Common Bearberry. A low running shrub up here, with fine leaves and red berries turning purple in fall. Various articles on line. Natives used it as a smoking mixture. I've eaten the berries but'll give it a try in a pipe this fall. Various spellings, too. Here's an article on a gardening variety:

Did some low calorie snacking, and am half way through this bowl of year 2014 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a very much appreciated 1979 brown, slight bend grain etched flat front Stanwell Rego 969-48 (09) with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Since my last post, the rain subsided, and all the ferals wanted out. About twenty minutes later, it came back in force. I opened the back door, and before I could call to them, they came running to me, and scooted in. Abner the Eager wasn't with them, but wherever he is, I'm sure he's okay. Maybe he show up soon?

Even Garter snakes have a mild neuro-toxin. But also rear fanged. They really gotta git to it if they wanna envenomate you. :)
Beat me to it. Now, almost all snakes other than constrictors are technically classed as “venomous,” since they have something they use on their prey. Though not significant at all to humans, let alone medically significant, little garter snakes still have venom. But before they can even think of using their back teeth on you, even the feisty ones seem to get their front teeth stick in your outer layer of skin, so not even allergy worries, really.

Since you seem to be a savvy herper, have you heard anything about the new copperhead venom research into why there have recently been more deaths to healthy, full-grown people due to a venom allergy than before, just over the last 5 years or so? The anti-venin actually hastened one death I know of. Researchers are looking into whether their venom is evolving to be more than what used to be classed when I was a kid as “semi”-venomous, though medically significant. I leave them alone, unless I need to move them, but the possibility of a bite concerns me a little more than it did before the recent spate of allergy deaths, and the little guys are everywhere in rural Tennessee.

Don't you just love the names they give these tobaccos. I am waiting for a small batch release of 'Scraping's of Baggins Scrotum' or 'Gandalfs Summer Kling On Rolls' at best an absolute must buy from your local purveyor of bulk blends before the FDA Tobacco Deeming hammer falls on your head. Back in Condorville I am enjoying a bowl of Bath Mat and Grannies underwear drawer Cannon Plug also known as the Queen of Rose Geranium Plug that was kindly gifted to me by a dear friend on this forum. I am switching gears tonight and using this lovely late 1880's meerschaum 'Cutty' that was a gift from my friend @simong whilst I prep a few legal documents for later in the week.

Looking at that shape, do you get “Ansey” while smoking it?

Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and am smoking Wilke Pickett’s Charge in a post-WW2 straight smooth brown pre-Republic Peterson’s Dublin 3 bulldog with a nickel band and a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. The rain slowed down, and Tomato the Brave and Harry the Hairy wanted out. I know they'll want back in soon. Have a few more box scores to read.

Now smoking Ken Byron Ventures Mr. Christian’s Brown Flek 2021 in a smooth brown full bend 1984 Peterson Mark Twain military mount egg with a silver cap and tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. Well.... except the absent Abner the Eager, the Three Stooges were waiting at the door, so I let the chuckle heads in to eat. They're dried off and snoozin' in opposite places in the den. Now, it's time to feed Sleepy Suzy and Molly Danger. Molly's in the bedroom though she was in the den most of the evening, and part of the afternoon, too.

Last smoke of the day is year 2016 D&R Two Timer Gold in a straight, black sandblasted pre-1970 Comoy’s Sunrise Etched Grain straight Liverpool 309 with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Molly Danger came out, and I thought she wanted to eat, but all she wants is my attention. She got that, and is roaming around the kitchen sniffing everything she gets near. I'm reading about Barlings.
