Finished up some yard work today so I could go fishing tomorrow when everyone is back at work.😏
The first voyage for the Lowe G3 is tomorrow . After 15 years, I decided the ‘ol Jon boat needed an upgrade.
I’m relaxing with some Nov 17 C&D Daylight or Or L’Yom in the Ashton XX Pebble Grain Apple. Some 50/50 homemade kits and black ice tea.

Been thanking those all day, who sacrificed so much to keep our country free. Cannot overstate the debt we owe to them for giving their all for us.....
My son drove in from Nashville this morning and we went down to the old homeplace and set up targets and had a lot of fun testing our marksmanship with some new guns that he bought over the past several months. Temps were cool but the rain held off and we had a lot of fun.
After feeding the horses, I got out some of my "Shelby Foote" blend. A combination of two parts Edward G. Robinson and one part Half and Half. I enjoyed it in a Barling model 5276 "big pot" billiard. Was so enjoyable.

Last night I sat outside and looked at the stars with some Peretti No.333 in a Falcon.

I should have gone with a lower-maintenance tobacco, though: this one required too many relights. Once the wind chill dropped below 35, I gave up and called it a night.

Since it’s a holiday weekend, I decided to try something new tonight, and opened up a tin of Key Largo. I’m glad that I did: it’s a very flavorful, pleasant blend, and a nice, long smoke in my Falcon snifter bowl.

Did you take a shot at one of the stars, and if so, did you hit it?

Indeed!
My wife and I love to fish or just get out on the water to relax.
We’re hoping to catch some Kokanee.

I can never relax while fishing . . . . I hop in my 8 foot Zodiac, and go to war with the fish! Generally use a #3 rod with tiny flies, no matter what the enemy is . . . . I only relax onshore during slack times, but then I often go to a full sink with a #5 - 7 rod, larger flies, and target them deep. Very few kokanee worth catching up here. They're all fodder for large, predatory trout or char. A 6" kok is a monster up here, until you get to Lac La Hache 150 miles south, where they'll get to 3-5 pounds. There, they eat the trout!

What a great boat! Envious! 😍 👍 👍

Good lesson to teach the young'uns. There's only four venomous snakes in the the U.S. (Rattlesnake, Copperhead, Moccasin and Coral snake) and the others many times are beneficial in keeping the population down for rodents and even other snakes.
And Arizona only has 13 species of rattlers😉
It was definitely a good learning moment.
