Just love that pipe. Rhodesian type bowl and quarter bend not only looks great, but would smoke great as well. I've a mind for a similar pipe during my upcoming pipe tweak.MB London Mixture in a Grabow with coffee. View attachment 388831

When you get there, don't think you can't afford artisan pipes, too. If you want artisan pipes, but without spending 4 figures, your job is to find people who'll be charging $1,500-2,500 for their pipes someday, but who are just getting started, yet are really, really good already. With other hobbies taking up funds, too, I can't afford artisan pipes now from several I bought from when they were starting out. It's kind of neat to see a pipe go up on SP for $1,500 to $2,500, and know you have a similar one you paid $200-500 for, from the same maker.I want a Savinelli Punto Oro straight billiard or Canadian. Just slightly too expensive for me just yet. One day though, it's on my list
An excellent and sobering post! Cheers!Out of a number somewhere over 50 that I refuse to count for the sake of plausible deniability, I only have 5, 9mm pipes, but the 2 workhorses of the group are a godsend when I overdo it, as I have been lately, and tongue bite hits. I should probably also have switched and had a few cigars instead, but just didn't want to. Thanks Gord, I was lucky enough to be given this one and I’ve come to love bent bulldogs. Rhodesians are good too but I love the diamond shanks of a bulldog and why I picked up that Brebbia I frequently post :]Just love that pipe. A totally unpretentious but extremely elegant pipe. Wonderful!Evening smoke of Rattary's Stirling Flakes in a Jeantet Distinction 701 lithe billiardView attachment 388868
More great wisdom and advice. You're on a roll today, Sir Puff! for sure. Kudos and thanks! When you get there, don't think you can't afford artisan pipes, too. I like straight pipes and I look at pipes under $200. The Punto Oro pipes are just over $200 I think maybe $300. And I can see maybe paying that But over $300 you start getting into Gun money. Hell $1500, you could buy a decent rifle for that. When you get there, don't think you can't afford artisan pipes, too.
