After Mass I plan on making a roast duck with mashed potatoes, asparagus, French cut green beans, and corn. Dessert will consist of lemon meringue pie, cherry pie, and dandelion cake.
Sounds potentially good. I have no idea how good of a cook you are. Most French people I have met seem to know their way around a kitchen. But I also suspect that you guys don't let the ones that can't travel.
I recently got back into the church due to a very vivid and morbid dream. Went to confession for the first time in 7 years. Had a lot to unload.
I thought this seemed out of character. Would love to hear the dream but I like vivid morbid dreams. The confession not that interested. Especially if your lawyer would advise against it.

I had a vivid dream myself the other night. This one, very different than the typical vivid dreams I've had before.

As I was sleeping, a large black leopard crept into the room and came astride the side of the bed I was sleeping on. It then proceeded to claw at my head and was moving in for the kill. I tried to get away but - sleep paralysis, something that never impacts me, was impacting me. Try as I might, I couldn't get away. Finally, I woke up, but I saw nothing. I realized of course that it was a dream, but an eerie feeling of concern was with me in the room and I could still feel the wound to the left side of my head. As I lay there, now able to move, I realized I was still dreaming and was dreaming that I was awake after the incident. I then willed myself to actually wake up. Now the weird part... I could actually feel the left side of my head in pain from where the leopard had wacked me in my dream. The eerie feeling persisted. Of course nothing was in the room and I quickly went back to sleep after exercising all unclean spirits that might have wandered in while I was sleeping.

Two days later, I was again sleeping when I woke up from a dream. When I woke up, I was blind and couldn't see. Of course this was really concerning and I was a bit terrified. As I was lying there in bed, I thought about it and realized that while my eyes were wide opened, I was still dreaming. Again, I willed myself out of that dream and of course I could see.

This is twice now that I was in a double dream, dreaming about something that was me in a dream only to wake up as a part of the dream only to find myself that I was still in a dream.

It does get one to question reality. I think I need a gyroscopic top.

Sleep paralysis is one of the most terrifying things I have experienced. It's as real as anything when it happens and you're not in a state to get logical on it.
Sometimes our bodies can tell us something is wrong through dreams before we'd catch it in our waking life. If you keep having dreams about injuries or attacks on that spot get it checked out.
But yes even knowing about the phenomena of sleep paralysis I still feel like there was that time that weird rock demon was menacing me for a while.

I had an apocalyptic dream, it's the first time I dreamt of something so horrible. Something like Pompeya. This is the first time in my life that I woke up with anxiety and distress. I wonder if the dreams are warnings or messages, or normal brain actions. As for your dream, I thought you might have hit your head in your sleep.

I don't believe anything is necessarily wrong physically. From time to time, I am acutely aware of spiritual phenomena around me. I've documented some of it and it was weirdly accurate in that what I thought was going on was going on.

When I was in Jr. High, I went over to talk to a friend. He was casually reading a book. Before I got to him, every hair on my neck stood up on end and a shock of genuine fear went through my body. When I got over to his desk, I asked what he was reading. It was the Satanic Bible.

A few years later, some friends and I went into the woods to camp out. As we were sitting around the fire, one of the friends, - we weren't drinking - went crazy saying he was going to kill everyone. The next thing I know, mad hysteria breaks out and everyone goes running. After getting away from the campsite, everyone calmed down and we went back and gathered out stuff and got the hell out of there. In the morning, I went back to get a few things we had left and where had been camping off to the side was a make-shift alter where animals had been burned. Surrounding the alter was a grouping of arches, made from parts of trees that resembled Stonehenge. Of course none of this had been visible the night before - we arrived after dark on foot and had no light to set up our tents. During the hysterical event, the same feeling I had with my friend years before was present that previous night. That feeling has always been something I have used to be alert to the presence of evil. I have felt it several times before and fortunately have lucked out, even when I ignored it. Once, my girl friend and I were stalked by a murderer in a forest. We ignored the man who apparently stalked us for hours after we had seen him - a strange man in the woods wandering around in red women's underwear - we were young and stupid. When we got back to the car, he had left a note detailing what he had wanted to do to us. A few years later, I recognized his picture - he murdered his ex-wife and her new husband. There are much more crazier details to that story - apparently, I found out years later, he somehow figured out who I was, called my parent's home thinking I lived there, and proceeded to tell my parents how he was going to murder me.

I have other stories as well, but I don't want to bore anyone with them or throw the thread off track. Suffice it to say, evil is real. real evil that watches, just out of sight, always ready to make itself known. It doesn't take much of an invitation to open the door to it and ignoring it or thinking it doesn't exist is just the invitation it needs.

I have lived a fairly blessed life. I should be dead several times over. I acknowledge Jesus Christ and God's Holy Spirit for watching over me and I give credit where credit is due. There will always be people who aren't persuaded to believe or feel the need to believe that that there is a God who watches over us and cares for us. This isn't the place to argue or really discuss this anyway - and I am trying to do that. But in my life and in my experiences - ones I can never fully explain away, I am happy to give credit where credit is due.

I am confident many of you have your own stories and reasons for celebrating this Easter.

I'm a decent cook. Trying my mom's duck recipe for the first time so all fingers crossed. And yes, the ones who cannot cook are locked away forever.

My dream consisted of a dark room with a red light. Demons surrounded me chanting 'repent'. The floor then opened and a demon I can only describe as beautiful tempted me to continue my ways. I started saying the Hail Mary prayer and then I woke up still saying it.

Oh my, you have changed your name... I thought I was seeing things. I suppose it has to do with the dream you described above.

- sleep paralysis, something that never impacts me, was impacting me.
- an eerie feeling of concern was with me
- I could still feel the wound to the left side of my head.
- I could actually feel the left side of my head in pain
- Two days later, I was blind and couldn't see.
Telescopes, I would at least mention this to your doctor at your next visit or sooner just to rule out high blood pressure, ischemic attack, bad tobacco, etc. Any time I have had pain in a dream it was caused by something real I discovered later. Just a suggestion from concern.

Saturday is Norway Day in my town, so I'll get up early to get fresh baked bullar and lefse, followed by korv and meatballs (easier than kjøttkaker), and look at Norwegian horses. Then a fund raiser for the school my wife teaches at, followed by the Easter Vigil at the local abbey. On Sunday, my mom will be traveling to us solo for the first time. My dad died in January, so Easter is especially meaningful this year...
