I suppose it just tends to get lost in the mix, which I suppose happens when you have more than 50 pipes. Not boasting, but I'm sure most of you with multiple pipes can relate.

Sure can . . . I have realized over the past week I have exactly that problem, and I only have a couple plus 30 lol . . . . so, why are we always looking for more, when we have good friends available that we don't smoke much? Do ya think pipes cause mental ilness?

added edit: Your comment has inspired me. . . . . Ya, right now i'm puffing on a cigar trying to find a pipe for a late morning smoke. Going to choose something that I haven't smoked in a long while, and a likewise a tobacco. . . . . . .

Red Carpet in a Peterson Christmas 69.

@BenMN I hadn't seen any discussion about Red Carpet containing Orientals and it hadn't occurred to me that it might. I don't taste anything to make me think it does so I do believe that it doesn't.

That's an interesting comment . . . . there seems to be certain tobaccos that contain Orientals but the presence is understated. The package, for instance, on Amphora Absolute (Rich in the US) says it contains orientals, but the presence is very subtle. There, but very understated. It seems to just add to the very rich nature of this tobacco, which is one of my very favourites. And, as a plus, it is available locally at PG's Sheffields' outlet.

Still working on my comparison and contrast. Now smoking Bayou Morning Flake in the same Christmas 69 I posted earlier. To me BMF has less sweetness than Kajun. Red Carpet does have a woody note I take to be a tannic addition from the Va along with some tartness but do see how Oriental notes could come into consideration.
Personal projects seem to be an integral part of the game, eh?

Passing the quarter mark of this bowl of Wilke No. 515 Double Shot in a smooth dark medium bend 2021 Peterson Heritage Brown POTY 4AB No. 45/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. This is No. 515 with twice the rum of the Basil Rathbone blend. This is the last of my stash of Double Shot. I'm going to give this pipe a good clean before I go back to the regular No. 515. I know I won't get all the flavor out, but I expect to get just enough that the regular No. 515 (which has more tobacco taste) will work for this pipe. Fed all the ferals except for the absent Abner the Eager, and they are in the den. Sleepy Suzy is by my side. I may end the day with this smoke.

Whether you do or not, a fine pipe to end the day with. 👍 👍

Steamworks in the bent Adebayo.
Yurm.
I asked Jeremy at Muletown if Steamworks was slated for a return this year..
Sadly he said not this year..
But it will return in 2026.
Here's to hoping what I've got will last!

Mee Three! That's great news on a great tobacco. I'd not complain if it was all I could smoke!

Good morning! Winter revisits the Florida Panhandle. Feels like 36 this morning. Beautiful sunshine though! You know what time it is.

One of my remaining life goals is to obtain about six tins of SWR. One of the greatest tobaccos of all time, and, y'all will probably not be interested in this, it makes, right out of the tin, one of the greatest chews of all time. Suck on it almost always while I'm teaching and shooting at the range. Keeps my mind focussed and I shoot and teach noticeably better with a huge pinch between the gums and cheeks. No, I don't spit it out, either. Absolutely delicious with that anise undertone!!!

Passing the last third of this bowl of year 2024 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Fed all the cats except for Abner the Eager. Unloaded the dishwasher, too. Ice water and bergs is my drink.
