Smoking another bowl of 2024 G&H Grasmere. I just rubbed out some from the Mason jar and stuffed it into my pipe. The rose geranium is more noticeable. A few more relights as well.

Do I prefer one over the other? Well hard to say. One thing that’s evident is the moisture buildup without first drying the tobacco. In the past I’ve usually smoked tobaccos like this in a Kirsten, where moisture buildup isn’t an issue.

In any case I don’t think I’ll ever need to order anymore Grasmere… while I enjoy it, it’s not something I smoke that often.

A quarter of a bowl left of year 2020 D&R Raccoon’s Delight in a smooth brown 1976 GBD Seventy Six 256 lumberman with a black vulcanite saddle stem. First of this style that I bought in 1981 as an estate pipe. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Earllier this evening, I brought Molly Danger to the den and she was on m'lady's lap for a while. As always, she's a tad nervous when I do that before she settles down. She walked all around the den and kitchen, but wasn't hungry. I think she was checking to make sure the ferals weren't here. Then, she went back to the bedroom. Some minutes later, while I was in the bathroom using the sink to clean estate pipes. she came in meowing loudly. When I went back to the den, she followed me, and both m'lady and I took turns playing with her. M'lady went to bed and took Molly with her. This is progress. Now, I can see if any of the ferals want to come in to eat.

Now smoking year 2014 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a very much appreciated 1979 brown, slight bend grain etched flat front Stanwell Rego 969-48 (09) with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Going to work on estate pipes a little. I fed Harry the Hairy outside. I let Daisy the Feral Princess and Tomato the Brave in to eat. Tomato's playing with toys now. He's Daisy's entertainment.

Passing the quarter mark of this bowl of Wilke No. 515 Double Shot in a smooth dark medium bend 2021 Peterson Heritage Brown POTY 4AB No. 45/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. This is No. 515 with twice the rum of the Basil Rathbone blend. This is the last of my stash of Double Shot. I'm going to give this pipe a good clean before I go back to the regular No. 515. I know I won't get all the flavor out, but I expect to get just enough that the regular No. 515 (which has more tobacco taste) will work for this pipe. Fed all the ferals except for the absent Abner the Eager, and they are in the den. Sleepy Suzy is by my side. I may end the day with this smoke.
