Comparison of my older Pete 309 System, and the new 309 System.
Gorgeous. My two vintage 309s are much the worse for wear compared to yours!
However I did just finally obtain a buffer, so we shall see what the future brings as my amateur pipe restoration setup improves.
I know many prefer the older, longer stems; but I'm one that prefers the newer, shorter. Fit's me needs better.

So, this is my first-ever pipe, a simple but pretty little "Filter" 65, a gift from an Irish uncle on my 18th birthday:
Since this clearly doesn't hold a 9mm filter, I believe it's from the 1980s Filter line, which apparently featured a "triple groove air filter", according to the book also pictured. Other descriptions fit, but 6mm adapters don't, and 6mm balsa filters get shaved down a bit when inserted. Is my pipe missing a condenser-type filter that was originally installed, or was there a special filter cartridge Peterson sold that was a little under 6mm? Does anyone know more about that line?

It’s in really good shape. The nomenclature is quite thin, but I guess that’s to be expected.
The stem didn’t seat to my liking, so I smoothed out the taper. Seats better now.

1981 Mark Twain 181/400 freshly back from Peterson with a new stem and finish.
Finally landed a smooth Dracula B10. Also got a B stem made for my 11s. Closest thing I'll get to Einsteins Pete.
There's even a Dark Smooth Lestrade I could get, but I find the stem way too long.
