@jbfrady ready for the celebration of life for GoA! Best guess is 1985ish Elephant & Castle New World will be available for all those in attendance.

When I gently opened this tin, it gave a wonderful HISS releasing its 40 year old vacuum seal! It still has a bit of moisture to the touch and screaming to be smoked!

No doubt, I will be pulling from the jar on rare occasions. It will probably last another 20 years unless I can find a replacement.

I popped a tin too… but it too sarcastically celebrate the amount of time I won’t be going anywhere this weekend. Winter storm to hit in the morning hours tomorrow, figured I could use some burley in my life.

Turns out this is like smoking an endangered species. It’s not the first time I’ve had a Cobblestone Brick, but it’s the first time I realized the Brick line in particular is (I.e. was) made by Sutliff.

I had same experience. This blend had a lot of hype so I bought a tin. Found it uninteresting, rough on the palate and not to my taste. It needed either Perique, a topping, or both.
I think you are right. A week later and it still doesn't have much going on for itself. Luckily i tried this before i ordered a boatload (like the FOMO man I am).

many other flakes out there that are objectively better.

How is it? I’m a fan of the Cobblestone Hiking burley flake but never tried the brick before it got disco’d, although I see the brick is still in stock at a few places. Do you recommend it?

I’m a huge Cobblestone fan myself. Most of it is made by Kopp (chess series and aromatics) and not Sutliff, if memory serves.

I snagged these because their Brick Virginia is one of my all-time favorites. The only potential problem with it is that it’s not really a plug. It’s a tightly condensed crumble cake and the leaves are definitely not very big.

I definitely suggest ordering a couple while you can. When you smoke it, just be sure to break off a piece and mush it just a little and stuff into the pipe without letting it fully rub out. Because of the small consistency of the leaves, if you break it all the way down it will smoke way too hot.

Opened a few tins last night to share with a cigar buddy to try and get home over to the pipe side.

Dan Tobacco London Blend 1000 from around 2008. A pretty fresh tin of Savinelli Deblone d'Oro. And a guessing 7-10 year old tin of And So To Bed.

How is the Dan London blend 1000? I’ve considered buying some to age in the past. Also, how is the And So to Bed aged?
