This weekend while antiquing with my wife (it was a fantastic day and we had burgers at our favorite diner beforehand), I came across this old can of Granger. Of course I wanted to buy it since it’s a piece of tobacco history, but I was a bit on the fence because of the $20 price tag. I showed my wife and told her as much, but she said, “Well haven’t you been looking for something to dump your ash and pipe cleaners in?” I knew there was a reason I keep her around! Haha.
So I ended up buying it, and it works perfectly for dumping all of the gunk after I clean out a pipe. I love seeing it displayed on the top of my tobacco cabinet, too. It’s a cool reminder of a small bit of the history of this hobby. I think later down the road when I have more shelving space, I’ll aim to collect old tobacciana like this. For the time being, however, I couldn’t be more pleased with this acquisition and I already think it was well worth the price paid.
What kind of old tobacco history pieces do you have? I’d love to see other’s collections!
