Four that are close at hand. I’ve only smoked one of them, the upper right. I have 3-4 others, but I’m too lazy to go dig them out…

Top is (I think) a Carl Weis (new stem), as he was somewhat famous for that shape, including the gigantic one in the middle in the late 1870's. Bottom is an 1893 Captain Warren (as I learned on these forums!) underbore, with a screw-in meer insert.

I have meer question, I heard some meer pipes are poured into a mold and some are hand crafted, hence being more expensive also. Is this true and has anyone ever known a difference in the pipe and how it smokes?
True. I’m not sure if I’ve ever noticed any difference in the quality of the smoke? But then the only reason I called my father Daddy was cause my Mother told me to. ?☕

I've heard that. The molded Meerschaum pipes use dust and a binder, typically not as ornate. Apparently the way to tell is is you get some water on them the block meerschaum pipe will absorb it quickly and the pressed will not. Also have heard that if you rub a piece of silver the pressed will have a mark and the block will not. I've never had the opportunity to compare them, but everything I've read says you want block meerschaum.

Well I lied! ? …Last yr around this time I went and purchased an IMP bent billiard (listed below), and declared that from then on that’d I only acquire one pipe a yr outside of my occasional MM purchases. And, that the pipe would be a Meerschaum. However, I purchased 2 Meerschaum pipes including a Peterson’s African Meer. ?

My 2021 pipe purchase were…

And, this is my latest acquisition. It’s an AKB Meerschaum Dublin with scales. I’m breaking it in with my beloved, all though I can see this being a flake pipe going forward.

You've certainly been on a meer binge for awhile now. :)
They went out of their way making that one. They made an identical piece with a slightly different orange stem to make sure I got the stem color I wanted.? If you didn't notice, it's a replacement for an older favorite pipe.?

As far as briars, I really only get two holiday commissions from J. Everett now.
