Just finished cataloging my most recent acquisition, very satisfied. (The Pipe was bought from Lepipe.it, also very satisfied with their service.) This is my new favorite sandblast (it's not a J.T. Cooke or anything, but probably the best of my collection).

I recall an article that stated most pipe racks were made wrong. Pipes should be stored stem down to allow better drying and allow any moisture to drain into stem for easier cleaning. What is your take ?

I break my eggs pretty much in the middle. Is that wrong?

I read much the same in a book by a French author. He implied the stem down technique should be obvious. I have always stored pipes bowl down on the theory that any residual moisture would drain into the bowl and evaporate.

I have two pipe racks. The one on the left is bowl down. The one on the right is bowl up. As long as you clean the pipe after you use it, either ways works. Since I always clean the pipe after smoking, it doesn't matter which end is upright.

I have come to the conclusion that any more racks that I might make in the future for stem-up display, will have the bottoms of those holes chamfered, in the hopes it will aid inserting the things when putting my pipes back in.
