It's a rather comfortable 83 degrees tonight so the shiver will have to come from a scary story or two.

This is one of my favorite times of the year and I'll post some different stories throughout the month and please do feel free to post your own favorites for the theme.

I think it should be a tradition that this thread starts with The Raven.

Here are 2 of the best readings I know of and both should be listened to during the season:

Light up, sit back, relax, and enjoy!

And now one of my most favorite ghost stories:

Sure there are better or scarier stories but this one just has a certain something. It's, to me, what a scary story should be.

Tonight I'm enjoying a glass of Kentucky Owl Confiscated Bourbon and a bowl of C&D From Beyond in a massive meer called Demon Lord by artist S. Yanik. I think it fits the theme very well.

Shanez,

Thank you so much for your shivery postings. I listening to Christopher Lee first and thoroughly enjoyed it, and was edified by it. I especially liked his slower pace and the shivery, dark and deep timbre of his voice. But I already preferred him having devoured his Dracula films and his portrayal as Saruman in The Two Towers.

I didn't care for the James Earl Jones version. Nowhere nearly the affective range and darkness.

Can I ask you ask a question? Was your monumental clench above facilitated by leaning the pipe against your
chest?

It was completely held by my teeth only for the picture. It only takes about half a minute before it starts to hurt though and then I can let it rest on my chest.

Well we're having a cold spell today. It's a balmy 73 degrees. Might have to put on a long sleeve shirt later.

Fired up some DT Sweet Vanilla Honeydew in "Satan" by S. Yanik and a glass of Costco XO Cognac on the side:

You look so excited in these pics, ha ha. But, it always nice to put a face to a member... a forum member... I mean a participant of the forum. :::cough cough:::
Nice pipe!! Lots of beautiful details.

I am not much a fan of modern horror, but I love the classics.

Warmer today at 81 degrees but I'll manage. Somehow.

Enjoying some Strauss Sleepy Hollow in a devil eating a skull's brain meer by S. Yanik and having a glass of A De Fussigny Selection Cognac:

I blame the clenching for the expression...

Starting with a good old haunting story that could easily be one of those cheesey old black and white horror movies that I so enjoy:

Another killer meer.

The world of specialty spirits is vast.
