If memory serves Soylent is a meal replacement introduced a few years back by a colorful gentleman and aimed at busy Silicon Valleyites. It's supposedly designed to contain everything needed in a diet and as such obviate the need for food so that the target audience can stop wasting time eating and actually be productive. It was very intentionally named.
