Stepped out of the shop to smoke a pipe and noticed the sign over the propane tanks. I said to myself, it’s missing a comma. That sign is stupid….of course you shouldn’t smoke propane!

So, I fixed it! Then I thought, either way with or without a comma it could still kill you.

I mean, is this like…..

All I can say is, it totally makes sense that Stalin, not JFK, would get the pasties. If you have to ask why, this thread is probably too deep for you; stick with the Tobacco Legislation section.

Not an issue with commas on this one but here's a street sign that I found to be extremely profane, vile, heinous, repugnant, vulgar, and just flat out inappropriate and uncalled for.

A comma would not work with the sign. Brevity is not always preferred. No Smoking Near the Propane. Here, the preposition reigns supreme. Better yet, just "No Smoking". No Smoking, Propane would suggest that Mr. or Ms. Propane should not be smoking. As in "No Smoking, Tom What are you, an idiot?" In this particular case, smoking really can kill.
