I was drunk the day my mama got out of prison
And I went to pick her up in the rain
But before I could get to the station in the pickup truck
She got ran over by a damned old train.

-David Allen Coe

I have spent many a night in my youth singing this song along with a bar full of drunks, in perfect harmony I might add. Some of you know the type of seedy joints I'm talking about, The ones the serve beer in a red solo cup...for everyone's safety.

Here
The power-mad freaks who are ruling the earth
Will show how little they think you're worth
With animal lust they'll devour your life
And slice your word to bits like a knife
One last day burning hell fire
You're blown away
If the man with the power
Can't keep it under control
Some heads are gonna roll

-Judas Priest

I've tried to listen to that damned PFish band, but they have the worst lyrics in the history of music and they sound like someone tied all of their instruments to the back of a truck and dragged them through the parking lot. If anyone likes this band, I'm sure there's a 12 step program that can help. puffy

The muscles flex the mother's ring
She fastens children to her king
and sends him down the crooked street
When he returns, the birth's complete

WTF???

The Grateful Dead have some great lyrics, but also many of them give me a WTF response also. I am actually surprised that no one has posted any of their lyrics on any of my lyric threads. But, this one creeps me out...

Talk about your plenty, talk about your ills, one man gathers what another man spills...

Makes me think of hippies out gathering urine from the bathrooms at concerts, or worse... blech. But, I'd probably like this group more if they could keep a song down below 15 minutes long. puffy
