I'll often sip a little cranberry juice or grapefruit juice after I smoke, or eat some citrus. The tang of the somewhat sharper juices or fruits seem to do a nice job of palate cleansing.
I usually have an apple after smoking. I like the crisp flavor after the taste of tobacco. Keeps the doctor away and all that also......
Honey crisp apples are good too! Crunchy and sweet enough.
I kind of have an apple rotation, just like tobacco or whiskey. I usually have Fuji, Honey Crisp, Pink Ladies or Galas on hand
Nothing. If I'm going to bed, then I brush teeth right away for the wife's sake. But I do that anyway before bed.

I don't do anything usually. I like to savor the flavor left behind for a little while. If i'm going to bed directly after a smoke I'm even a little disappointed when I brush and floss right after a smoking session because I feel like I'm missing part of the experience of a pipe smoking session which is just kind of hanging back and still tasting the tobacco.
Clean my teeth every night and I use Eucryl tooth powder. Keeps everything stain free and I have been using the stuff for 30+ years.
I don't do any "mouth care". I let the pipe cool, empty the ash and dottle, clean the mortise with a cotton swab, and run a pipe cleaner from bore to draught hole.
I just brush my teeth, and always a lot of drink while smoking.
And have no problem till now in my mouth when smoking.

I have to keep my days pretty scheduled out to fit everything in, and it just works out to where my pipe smoking times are always followed relatively closely by a shower/rinse and teeth brushing/mouthwash. I smoke 3 pipes per day, and I never get any complaints about the smell.

Who gives a crap what any of you think! If you feel safe by washing your mouth then do it, if you don't care then don't. Some have very good and safe points others should be seen and not heard and maybe not even seen!
Good points sir. Your comments have helped many pipe smokers with their oral concerns.

Seems to me if someone asks an educated question in regards to safety then one should respond with an intelligent answer, not telling them wash the mouth after smoking with cat or monkey urine. Get it? Maybe my response was counterproductive to you, but I don't want to be told someone should wash the mouth with monkey or cat urine after a smoke!
