I am grilling outside and really want to keep the smoke going but I almost at the bottom can I reload or get another pipe an start fresh?

I usually at least let the pipe cool down.
if you want to smoke back to back use 2 pipes IMO.

Yeah its good to wait till it cools down and i like to run a pipe cleaner through it after every smoke.

If I'm smoking a cob I'll repack right away. If it's a briar I'll let it cool for about 20 minutes.
Thanks I was smoking a pear wood which I don't do very often but I will just go back to my Morgan cob and keep relaxing

Sometimes I'll just repack the same pipe and keep on rolling, but if I've got another pipe ready to go, I'll do that.
+1. You aren't going to hurt your pipe having a few straight bowls in it. Just run the pipe cleaners through it.
One of the nice things about this forum is hearing about how other people live in other parts of the country (and world). I live in Northern NJ in a 4000 sq foot house on a 75x120 ft lot and pay an outrageous amount of property taxes. Its a nice town and a nice life. But damn, watching the cows graze sounds really nice,
I only have about 5 acres but I have 4 cows and about 30 rabbits and 5 dogs that my wife breeds more of just a simple homestead for a simple man trying to stay away from the hustle and bustle. But a 400 square foot house sounds nice too

I have some yard beater briars and I double down on those with no rest or cool down period, but the second bowl never tastes as good as the first.
Immediately after cleaning and the pipe is cool to the touch.
I smoke to the bottom, and blow out the dottle. Then I immediately re pack while the bowl is still hot, and go again . Cobs or briar, don't matter.
Seems like I’ve always got a new pipe or a fresh restoration to switch to, I don’t think I’ve smoked one back to back yet. I’m sure that time will as I’m just getting back into this.
I've done it. I would even try smoking the same pipe all day long if I could smoke all day long. Probably the way it was done back in the day.
Go ahead and see what happens. Ain't gonna hurt nothing. If you smoke dry tobacco it isn't a problem to smoke like that. If your tobacco is quite moist and you smoke fast then it can build up moisture with multiple bowls. Whether or not that makes mucn of a difference for your next smoke also depends on your pipe and it's design/ airways. Some are better than others.
I’m definitely “guilty” of this, though I try to avoid it by having cobs out, especially if I’m fooling around with something. When I’ve got a briar I’m usually just chilling...
