I’m a beginner collector of pipes and accessories I have a boxed Sheffield Richards pipe tool and am asking when they were in circulation many thanks

I'm using one this morning. They are still being made in England and sold throughout the world.

Be careful using the "scraper", use it lightly as it's also a light reamer and that is something you don't want to do very often.

You accidentally put this in the For Sale section....

They come in several different colors and materials.

I’d love to see it as well. And I hate those little serrated pipe-knifes, though I’ve used ‘em very gently removing cake inside the chamber mechanically.

That's a beautiful pipe tool. One attribute of the old minimal-cost pipe nail is that the scoop won't do any damage, and it combines the tamper and scoop in one simple design. Also, as one of those ironies of life, you just about can't lose a pipe nail, whereas an expensive pipe tool could be off to see the world.

Like my A.G. Russell pipe too. Cut's plug and in this instance Curley Block good. Yes I also have less expensive pipe tools but sometimes a guy owes it to him self ?

I have one,and while these are good quality but at the same time they seem to be a bit overpriced especially those with bone/wooden inlays,plus these are quite heavy weight,plain metal ones are better value
