The Pipes Magazine Radio Show – Episode 356

Thank you for joining us for The Pipes Magazine Radio Show—the only radio talk show for pipe smokers and collectors. We broadcast weekly, every Tuesday at 8 pm eastern USA time and are available on nearly all podcast sites and apps. Listen on your computer, tablet, phone and even in the car! We have a bonus triple interview tonight from the floor of last week’s IPCPR / PCA trade show in Las Vegas. Brian will be talking to Glen Whelan of Peterson Pipes, Max Stokkebye of STG Lane, and Knud Nording of Nording Pipes. In Pipe Parts, Brian will discuss the Churchwarden pipe, and why he thinks everyone should have one. Sit back, relax with your pipe, and enjoy The Pipes Magazine Radio Show!

Tonight’s show is sponsored by SmokingPipes.com, Cornell & Diehl, Missouri Meerschaum, and Savinelli Pipes and Tobaccos. Please give them some consideration when making your next pipe or tobacco purchase.
We hope you enjoy our 1-hour show produced just for you—the pipe smoker and collector. The following link will launch a pop-up player. Alternatively, you can download the show in iTunes and other podcast sites and apps after the initial broadcast is complete here.

  • Can’t download this episode from iTunes. I’ll have to try again tomorrow.

  • Despite still not being able to download this episode from iTunes I managed to listen to it via the website. Fun episode. I enjoyed hearing about where Peterson Pipes and tobaccos are headed. I’m hoping that Stokkeby does a blending event somewhere in my vicinity and I pondered over the Nording compass pipes:intriguing but not for me. I look forward to hearing more reports from the show. While I agree with Brian’s comments in his rant, I can’t help feeling “dissed” by the name PCA. We may not be that big a group, but we exist.

  • Yes, I also cannot download the episode from iTunes. The error is regarding the url not being found on the server.
I hope this gets fixed as I would love to listen!

  • Very entertaining show! After hearing the lively interviews from the floor of the IPCPR and seeing James Foster’s great photographs at pipesmagazine.com, I feel that I was there (almost). The pipe industry seems to be in good hands with the “new generation”. For those interested in trying a churchwarden, but not sure they will use it enough to justify the cost, I would recommend starting with one that comes with two stems- regular size and churchwarden size. I have a Stanwell Hans Christian Anderson that is convertible, and it does double duty with my Danish tobaccos.
