Kevin Godbee
Thank you for joining us for The Pipes Magazine Radio Show—the only radio talk show for pipe smokers and collectors. We broadcast weekly, every Tuesday at 8 pm eastern USA time and are available on nearly all podcast sites and apps. Listen on your computer, tablet, phone and even in the car! Our Featured Interview tonight is with Pipe Collector, Dr. of Pipes, and former President of The United Pipe Clubs of America, Vernon Vig. Vernon is a retired attorney. He is 80-years old, and has been to pipe shops and shows all over the world, and has lots of great stories. In the Pipe Parts segment, Brian will give us a trip report on last weekend’s Chicago Pipe Show. We will have an update on the JDRF donations as well. Sit back, relax with your pipe, and enjoy The Pipes Magazine Radio Show!

Tonight’s show is sponsored by SmokingPipes.com, Cornell & Diehl, and Savinelli Pipes and Tobaccos. Please give them some consideration when making your next pipe or tobacco purchase.

We hope you enjoy our 1-hour show produced just for you—the pipe smoker and collector. The following link will launch a pop-up player. Alternatively, you can download the show in iTunes and other podcast sites and apps after the initial broadcast is complete here.

  • The trip report was good but could of been a lot better. Who were the new Doctor of Pipes (I know you later mentioned Vernon Vig), who were the first time winners of the Master of Pipes and who won the slow smoke contest (men and women)?
Vernon Vig was an outstanding guest. I can’t imagine any good reason why it took so long to get his Doctor of Pipes. Vernon was very appreciative of my role in the KC Newsletter and sent we several encouraging emails about it. His election to the Confrere of Pipe Smokers was well earned. He really gave a good presentation of his world wide collecting.
The rant was good. I would encourage people to get out to pipe shows also. I am tired of people on forums saying “I’d go but it’s a 100/200 miles away”. I hope it was just an oversight but you completely missed the KC show in your wrap up of pipe shows.
