Revolver, on vinyl. My daughter and her friend picked me up some LP's for my birthday, the covers were beat to hell, but the records in great shape. I didn't have the heart to tell them I didn't have a turntable. So I popped over to Kohls and picked up a standalone player, that also connects to my stereo system. Man, haven't spun a record in a few decades. (since aforementioned daughter ripped off the stylus on my Yamaha turntable when she was about 4 (she's 35 now...). A fun day! (George Harrison "All Things Must Pass" and the Who's "Who's Next" up in the que.

Listening to a terrific album, The BlueGrass Sessions, with Béla Fleck-banjo, Sam Bush-mandolin, Tony Rice-guitar, Mark Schatz-bass, Stuart Duncan-fiddle, and Jerry Douglas-dobro. Here's a tune by Béla, "Blue Mountain Hop"

Listening to Miles, Live At The Plugged Nickel. I was there! My buddy and I got in, didn't get carded, he was 20 and I was 19, but we looked older. We saw the second set on the first night.
Here's "Round Midnight" from that set. Miles, Wayne Shorter-ts, Herbie Hancock-piano, Ron Carter-bass, Tony Williams-drums.

Not in my book! I'd love to catch IM on this tour, they don't often just go thru the classics (The Trooper is on the set list).

Tool - Fear Inocumlum. I’m so freaking excited that their new album is almost here!!! I’ve been waiting a long time. So I’m in total Tool mode right now, listening to all their albums with great anticipation! Can’t wait to experience their limited edition release. It comes with a 4 inch rechargeable HD screen with speakers. Oh and their music along with King Crimson is finally available on streaming apps! Tool is one of those rare bands that I appreciate even more now as an adult than I did when I was a teenager. They have taught me a lot throughout the years.

Listening to my LP of Jon Lord's Concerto For Group And Orchestra, performed by Deep Purple and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Sir Malcom Arnold.
Here's a clip of that live 1969 performance, at Royal Albert Hall, of the First Movement, with a blazing solo by Ritchie Blackmore, one of his best.

I too am digging back deep into Tool in anticipation of the new album. I haven't listen to Fear Inocumlum yet because my buddy is throwing a Listening party when in comes out and I want to listen to the album from start to finish fresh. Since me and bunch of my friends have been in various bands though out the years we are planning on basically combining all of our PA systems out in woods and partying down while we play it. Should be a great time.

Awesome man, sounds fun! We did something very similar in 2006 for their 10,000 Days release. We are still gonna have a little get together listening party on the 30th. Good to see we’ve got a few other Tool fans here!

For perdurabo, hawky and acidpox, here's an incredible arrangement of "Schism" (one of my favorite Tool tunes). If you haven't heard this before, trust me, it'll blow you away, 'cause I know the pieces fit.
