I thought it would be fun to see pics of some of the guys smoking their pipes. I don't have a recent one but here's one of me taken a few years ago you might get a kick out of. See, I have been at it a while.

Hi Tommy, You can tell from the pics we're about the same age. My grandparent's old house in the background of my pic and the old fashion door with the glass door knob in yours. Ya still drink like that?

Nahh,....I outgrew Budweiser when I was a kid, but I still pride myself on being able get every last drop out of a bottle of fine whiskey.

That was at my grandparents house in 1954.

Ohin, you should use that as your profile picture. The dark object in the background of your current one makes it look like you have a pony tail.

Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Eegad! A pony tail? I barely have enough hair to cover my dome let alone grow a friggin' pony tail. That is the neck of an acoustic guitar you are looking at my friend, not a pony tail. I will change the pic to avoid any further confusiuon.

    Cheers.

I'm no good with self portraits so I'm posting a family portrait along with my 2 pipes and my tobacco. It's not much but I don't keep much tobacco on hand, especially now that I'm on unemployment. The big jar on the left contains a mixture of remnants from previous purchases and the other jar is full of 1Q (Wilshire). You will notice, however, the 3 empty Mason jars on the right. I am awaiting an order of tobacco from Boswell's, thanks to a friend that sent a thoughtful monetary gift for the sole purpose of purchasing some tobacco. Those jars will be full soon, UPS should be arriving today or tomorrow. Aloha to my friend in Hawaii!!! Thanks........

I don't know who D-Day is either? Unless you mean Daniel Day-Lewis...Geee. By the way you can get Rich's Granpa's from Rich's Cigar Store and Magazines up in Portland OR (pronounced Or e Gon). Ask for Bill Schindler. Strictly a order over the phone type of operation. Steve Books is the blender - and he is awesome. You can look up their Tobacco Reviews on tobaccoreviews.com. I like this blend it is a very mild aromatic off-dry with a lovely hint of cocoa. As you smoke it a nuttiness from Burleys starts to make it prescence known. - Clano-

    Bubba asks

Cortez, do explain your avatar for me! I think you have explained before but I forgot!

My avatar is an admittedly amateurish personal sketch. I kinda like the minimalist sketching style -- though I have no talent for such things.
I suppose at some deep psychological level it's the image I want to project as much as anything else. I never thought much about it, but then I found this old print ad so maybe this image, as well as the slogan, was burned into my subconscious. I dunno.

As for the screen name, you can find that in the thread on "Explaining your screen name."
And my true personal image? Well, a real pic will have to wait until the Illinois Statute of Limitation, as it pertains to me, expires ...

Thanks for starting this thread Searock. I've been thinking we needed this for a long time.

    Here's my submission.

Obviously, I go both ways with my pipe as you can see when comparing this picture to my avatar. Just by chance, it;s the same Dunhill Dress pipe too.
