I have had my pipe collection double in size before (see here) and it just happened again. If my PAD continues like this I am in serious trouble.
For a while now I have considered getting a smaller pipe for shorter smokes and because it is lighter so good for walking and smoking. I don't mind filling half a bowl but a lighter weight option warranted a new pipe. I tried a corncob and the light weight was wonderful so I started looking for a briar pipe. Problem is I found two. I fixed that problem by buying both and they just arrived in the mail today.
I got a Peterson Trinity 15 and a Butz Choquin Old French 1901. The bowl size on the Peterson is still reasonable but with a nice light weight (similar weight to a cob in the hand). This is my first pipe with silver on it and after a little polish it shines up well. The Old French is tiny and it is so light weight I could keep it in my mouth all day.
For Christmas my wife gave me a gift voucher to the local tobacconist so I could get myself a pipe lighter so I threw that into the picture as well.

Those are two sharp looking pipes! I have two of the Vertigo lighters that have the tools attached, very handy!

I have a similar Butz Choquin and it smokes like a dream and is light as a feather. The finish and the feel of it is SO smooth and nice too. One of my early Ebay estate acquisitions, I knew nothing, and I got my money's worth.

I went from a Legend from the drug store to buying used pipes with names I thought might indicate reliable outcomes and also recognition amongst fellow pipers..

I've got a couple of Butz's. I now have 3 LHS pipes, which I've just sort of fallen into acquiring. I have a Comoys, a Ropp, a Brebbia, a Kiko, a Dunny, bunches of no name imports, a couple meers, a bunch of cobs and 9 unsmoked Medicos I'll be selling off, most likely. They're all briars and a few of them look like they might be decent to keep, so, I'll have a decision to make.

I had the mail lady working hard this summer and was getting boxes to open about every other day. What a blast it is to buy old pipes, clean them up and smoke them. I wonder if it's as much fun to sell them?
