So when I got back from vacation I found that Baronsamedi sent me a blend he calls Miskatonic University Blend. In the bag I found a shag and course ribbon cut tobacco of various colors of black, charcoal, light brown and dark brown. Opening the baggie it has the nose of a sharp English with not as much Lat as most, a sharpness probably Perique.
It packed well into my English only Meer and fired it up. The charring light was smooth and on the second light I was expecting the Perique to cut right into my tongue but it did not. It was well balanced and reminded me of a fine cigar instead of a pipe tobacco. I smoked on pulling hard to see if it would bite me and only when chugging it as you should not do did it even begin to nip at me.
Second day: again the light up was like drawing on a nicely balanced cigar. Warm, smokey with an undertone of spice and malt. This time I just sat and enjoyed a good honest tobacco smoke. Not once did it get into my tongue and stayed the same the whole bowl through, ending with a bit more spice.
Third day: Just as before, even tones, gentle in the mouth and great pure tobacco taste. If you like an all day cigar, with a bit of single malt flavor, this is the pipe tobacco for you. I filled up my big Nording and worked in the shop happily puffing and getting surprised that it smoked so even without changing into something else in the bottom of the bowl, it's so well balanced. Great job Clint, make some more!
