Then there's the inner tube trick.
Unmodified Zippos seem like they last a week or so between fills, whether you use them twice a day or 30 times a day. People that use their lighter a lot seem to like them best.

I have been using the inner tube trick for years. It works well but the rubber rubs off on to the lighter and leaves a black ring around it, which I don't mind because I normally use a plain old solid brass zippo. I use the thing when I need a flame. Could care less what the fire tool looks like as long as it functions the way it's intended to. My girlfriend has been gifting me the more ornate Zippos. My o.c.d. dictates that I mitigate fuel evaporation on all of my Zippos. I picked up a bag of those 1.5 X 2 baggies for the nicer lighters. Thanks for the tip CI.
